I am the General Manager of Larry Miller Nissan and was NOT here when this incident happened however am sorry that this consumer had this experience. I do find it hard to believe that not only would someone charge that amount for an oil change but also find it hard to believe that any person of sound mind would pay that much for an oil change so i do believe there is much more to this story than is being told. With that being said we have over the past 6 months completely changed many of the people and all of the processes at Larry Miller Nissan to be significantly more customer focused and friendly. I have an open door policy and am open to showing customers that Larry Miller Nissan is here to serve customers in the absolute best fashion in the city of Denver.

Doing as you guys are isn't what this site is meant for. Especially stupid if it's a person working for the dealership to acting in a manner presented, very unprofessional and would drive customers away. Also making threats etc. like that for not paying bills is against the law, and is subject to hundreds or thousands of dollars owed to the debtor per offense, and being visible on a public forum as such would provide easy proof and ability to be taken to court over.

She may be lying about the services she received, however, you don't have the authority to have her car towed for not paying a shop expense. It would have to be sent to a legal collector, and from there, it'll be on her credit report, and so on. If you did threaten to reposses her car, you're somewhat in the wrong.

Nice try though Kathleen. You refuse to provide the invoice because it will show the other work done in addition to the oil change...the one that cost no more than $30.

No you have not sent me your fax number. Want to try again? I thought so! And we already know that you work for this company, and just trying to cover up this report.

ED sent my fax number and pertinent information to you Kathleen. That was over a week ago...as in a day or two after you asked me to provide you with a fax number. ED sent me an emal verifying he sent them to you. I am still waiting for the unedited(minus your personal information of course) invoice showing a $556 oil change. I know you will not send it though, because the invoice will show the oil change was about $25-$35 out of that $556 total bill. The rest was for other work you authorized. Still waiting.....

I have all my oil changes done at Nissan (I paid for this & all maint. services thru 100,000miles) and everytime I go in they try to sell me additional maint items but I always say give me an estimate & I'll get back to you. My husband does all the other stuff himself..... Anyways, there is no way that an oil changed cost that much. Nissan dealerships charge way more than other service stations (39.99) is what it is at Coral Springs Nissan. You need to read through your receipt and see exactly what they charged you for don't try to handle this on the phone. Go to the dealership & speak to a service manager and if he/she is rude/unhelpful go into the dealership & find a sales manager. I was in the dealership 2 weeks ago for my oil change & they tried to sell me tires for 649. & new breaks, I said no thank you. But when I picked up the car they still had those items on my bill, I pointed out the mistake & made them change the bill. NEVER pay for services that you did not want & you did not authorize and don't leave the dealership until its ironed out. Good luck

It was too cold to check your brakes? Where they doing the work outdoors? I can't fathom anyone being stupid enough to try to charge $556 for an oil change only. There has to be some mis-understanding between the service manager and the customer.

To the guy that sent a comment on this was more than an oil and lube job. Send me your fax number and I can send you a copy of my invoice, EH? Any more you need to know. To the guy that suggested I do the oil change myself. I would if I could. I am disabled, and a 53 year old woman that knows nothing about cars.

You were not charged $556 for an oil change, and you know it. The oil change was more likely about $20-$30 of that $556. What else was done, that you are not willing to tell? Storage, other repairs, eh?

Why don't you people simply change the oil yourselves? It is not very hard. A 5-qt jug of Mobil-1 is $23 plus a $5 oil filter, and unless you want to spring for AMSOIL, this is about as good as it will ever get for your car. Figure on the Mobil-1 lasting 7000 to 7500 miles until the next change is required. You can use a rubber mallet on your lugwrench to knock the wheel lugnuts loose, and then you can inspect the brakes and rotate the tires yourself. None of this work is brain surgery.
