Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

On 8/12/13, My Brother and I were in the Playa del Coco area we were approached by a Scottsman who gave us scratch cards and told us to scratch off the coconuts and it would reveal the prize that was ours to receive once it was revealed. My Brothers' card revealed that he had won a$1000.00, mine revealed a T-Shirt. The Scottsman the took us by Golf cart to collect our prizes.  On the way, He proceeded to explain to us that in order to get our prizes we also had to listen to a 90min. presentation on timeshares and we really didn't have to stay the entire 90mins. if we didn't want to.   Well needless to say we fell for the scam.

After be taken to an office where we were signed in , and told that we would have lunch on them, a salesman appeared and tried to convince us to invest in a timeshare, he couldn't convince us so he took us to Brent Welch who convinced us to invest in the Las Palmas Travel Network Vacation club that was not a Timeshare dealing with property, but dealt with discounted travel arrangemnts with five star hotels, all inclusives, cruises, and airlines.

All we needed to do was to pay the enrollment fee of $2,300,  which had to be done by a credit card, and an annual dues fee of $238.00 due on the anniversary date of enrollment ( the first year, was waived). A membership application was produced and filled out,and we were told that we would receive our membership materials and it would arrive by e-mail within six weeks if not to call, write, or e-mail them.

Even though, it has  not been six weeks since our enrollment, I have tried to pull up their website, e-mail them, and look-up their network  in Nevada, I have not been successful. That is why I feel that We Have Been Had Big Time!!!!!

Please file a complaint with the FBI. We had the same experience except that we bought what we thought was a fractional ownership at the Coco Bay Estates.  The same Scotsman with the stupid scratch off cards and coconuts.  I filed an IC3 form with the FBI.  I got a call this morning that we they get enough complaints they will open an investigation.  The website is:

Did Ichu receive the promised Las Palmas Travel Network “Welcome Package”?

Hello Ichu,

Did you receive the promised Las Palmas Travel Network “Welcome Package”, and did it contain everything you expected?  I’m especially interested to hear about the part of the program that says it will reimburse your maintenance fees.  It’s now been six weeks since you signed up with Las Palmas Travel Network (on August 12th, 2013) so you should have received it by now.

There's another thread about Las Palmas Travel Network on www.pissedconsumer.com - take a look at Review #: 440638.

The sudden flurry of LPTN damage control press releases on Sept 3rd was short lived -- ghere were three releases in three days, and nothing before or after that.

Finally, Las Palmas Travel Network still hasn't responded to several really awkward questions about its legitimacy.

On 8/31/20013, I received a call from a representive from Las Palmas assuring me that I wasn't being ripped off and that this was not a scam. i was told that my Materials would be E-mailed to me, as well as other information. I was given a name, contact information, and a working website. The representive stated that he had read my Ripoff Report and again reassured me that all was well and it takes a while for the Network to receive and process the paperwork.

After logging in, I was able to find information that seemed legit. I was also informed that I would have to wait for 45 days to be able to book travel.
