My husband and I engaged Lauren Nicole Kingree to do a newborn photo shoot of our daughter in December 2017. She was recommended to us by a friend who had used her services twice before with a positive outcome. Initially Lauren was very responsive and easy to work with. We decided on her Posed Newborn Package, which included the following:
- Newborn photo session for $475 lasting 3-4 hours
- Posed and wrapped baby photos with multiple back drops and photos with the parents
- Digital downloads of 35 edited high-resolution images with print release
- $50 print credit
We exchanged photo shoot ideas for months ahead of time and she was very responsive and creative with her ideas. On the day of the shoot she showed up on time and had all of the props we discussed. She was wonderful with our 1 week old daughter and even stayed longer than originally expected to be sure she got the right shots.
About 1 week after the shoot we received 1 photo which we used for our holiday card. After this, everything went completely downhill. Her communication was sporadic and she kept promising she would send the photos "tonight" or "by the end of the weekend". This went on for months. Eventually she gave up even making false promises, which were never delivered on, and has not answered text messages and has been sending our calls straight to voicemail for months now.
At this point, I began getting very concerned because we had paid her in full at the end of the photoshoot. I also then googled her name and realized that this is not the first time she has done this to people.
It has now been 4 months and we have hired a private investigator who will be serving her with small claims court paperwork. Even if we get the money back, we will never recover the photos of our little girl at a week old.
