To anyone who is considering doing business with Laurinda D. Brown and her Positive Scribe Productions BEWARE!  Unless you get your money up front, she and her company have a reputation for going extended periods of time without making promised payments.  And this includes payments to her cast.  As a former cast member, I know and am tired of waiting for my money.  Laurinda talks about other people but never mentions what she has done to others.

As a cast member I have had to put up my own money to cover her company expenses on road trips. I have friends who still haven't been paid by her and her company. (Ask some of us DC cast members about how we drove 16 hours from DC to Atlanta for a production and were left with no place to stay because Laurinda had an argument with her girlfriend and hopped a Greyhound to Texas the day of the production.)  She didn't pay the venue or us, the cast.  Yeah we tried to kick her apartment door down to get our money, but she was nowhere to be found.

Laurinda even shafted the Woodruff Arts Center.  I know she owed them a lot of money because I was sitting there when they were asking her girlfriend where she was because they needed to get paid. I'm not surprised she can't go back there. One of the Board members of ITLA told me over drinks how she didn't pay them for sponsoring her play. Laurinda was supposed to give them a donation.  But they never received it even after she got paid for her play Walk Like A Man.  And ITLA was struggling.  They did everything she asked too.    Suppliers, film crews, cast members.  The list goes on.  We've all had money issues with Positive Scribe Productions.

Bottom line, Laurinda D. Brown and Positive Scribe Productions are slow to no-paying companies.  Just know that when you do business with her.

Fraudulent Report: Attorney General's Office has been contacted

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Mon, February 27, 2012

The "updated" report filed on February 25, 2012 regarding Laurinda D. Brown-Johnson and Positive Scribe Productions is false and contains erroneous information. It is a continued malicious attack upon me and my business.

If you are truly a cast member, please provide copies of your receipts, if you have any, and email them directly to me. If you are in possession of a signed contract AND a confidentiality agreement, then email that as well. Otherwise, this report will continue to be considered fraudulent.

Let me reiterate what was previously stated in the prior rebuttal. No money is owed to any staff/cast member or business associate, past or present, of Positive Scribe Productions, and I stand by that one hundred percent. That said, to the "anonymous" poster of this report, a complaint has been filed with the Mississippi State Attorney General's Office, and an investigation has been initiated. The name(s) of the likely creator(s) of the fraudulent report have been provided.

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

Tue, December 27, 2011

The contents of this report are false, and, based on postings on this site by a former business partner, have been made maliciously.

As the former Vice President of Operations/Marketing and Promotions AND 50% owner of the company (per the Articles of Organization filed with the GA Secretary of State), Charlotte M. Logan - who, for whatever other reason has been targeted on this site, is aware that EVERY employee/cast member of the company is bound by a Confidentiality Agreement; therefore, a posting on this site violates such an agreement. Every one of our cast members has been compensated in accordance with their contracts, and expenses are always handled in the agreed upon amount of time.

Additionally, I will say on behalf of the "DC cast member" of which Ms. Logan speaks, there are no DC cast members, and, for Ms. Logan to take information from a situation where only she and the said "DC cast member" were present, speaks volumes about the lack of integrity and respect she has for the company she once so well represented.

Any information pertaining to business relations with clients, venues, etc. fell under the duties and responsibilities of the Vice President of Operations/Marketing and Promotions. Ms. Logan, upon her departure and failure to submit proper resignation, took ALL documents relating to Positive Scribe Productions, LLC and its affairs with her. She did not return ANY of the company's property, and she also left a number of business relationships severed.

In the case of the Woodruff Arts Center, Ms. Logan was directed by myself to cancel that performance - and to also notify the traveling cast of the event's cancelation and to return to DC. She did not, allowing every cast member and vendor to arrive at the performance when she knew hours before that it had been already canceled. Again, as the person in charge of those details, she dropped the ball as she had done numerous times before (BalletAustin, March 2010/May 2010, The Book Woman March 2010/May 2010, The Woodruff Arts Center, May 2010, and The Plaza Theater, April 2011.) There was a verbal agreement with Ms. Logan in May of 2011 to continue her responsibilities as, "Crandall Davis" as we prepared for another show. She was given the requested/required information to fulfill her obligations, but she, once again, dropped the ball and never provided us with marketing/promotions information, sponsorship information or an official press release, per our agreement.

In closing, the "DC cast member" to which this post refers was unfairly targeted, and my apologies go out to her both professionally and personally. If you want to post a comment about something unfairly done to you and you are being truthful about it, by all means, don't hide behind a cloak of anonymity, especially when the company knows that YOU are the only person privy to such information.

To Ms. Logan, please be aware that EACH and EVERY attack and accusation you have made against me and/or this company since July 4, 2011 - including your filing of a false restraining order on July 11, 2011 - have been documented and should they continue, proper legal action will be taken.
