In December I went on Amazon for the second time ever to order presents. While on the Amazon website and starting the process to place my order a message appeared notifying me "Congratulations - you have been selected to receive a free gift. Please select from one of the following - you will only need to pay shipping and handling. I selected the Lavederm (I only selected one product but when it arrived they had sent me the Evelladerm too. I didn't think much of it because there was info on the internet talking about how Amazon was giving away a lot of great free gifts.
Fast forward to January to find two charges in my bank account for $83 and $89 each to ship me 'reorders' of not just the one but both products. At no point in the process was it made clear that this would happen. When I called the 'Customer Service' number on the confirmation email to object and to find out how to return the product and get credit I was told that I'd have to contact the company directly - that they were just a third party company - they refused to give me contact info - told me I could take my chances returning it... essentially telling me "got you sucker - nothing you can do"
This is a scam every which way - beware!
Will likewise report to Consumer Protection, Amazon and Master Card

To be very clear I am not accusing Amazon of being complicit - their customer service team has been alerted to the fraudulent behavior of Laveaderm and Evelladerm whose products are sold on the Amazon site and they have been most helpful in investigating.

To be very clear - I was not fraudently charged through Amazon. Nor am I claiming Amazon is in anyway complicit in this scam. It was reported to Amazon so they were aware of the fraudulent practices of one of their suppliers and they have been very cooperative in investigating the problem.

I was also charged in December for both products - unbeknownst to me.
