Absolutely do NOT pay this attorney one dime to "resolve" your debts. His service has caused more harm to our already fragile financial situation. As of this writing, we have been summoned by our various creditors to court and were forced to settle ourselves. The "help" that the Law Office of Herbert Davis provided was to say the least, unsatisfactory. Our lesson learned: make contact directly with your creditors and hold on to your hard earned money. We experienced much frustration with ignored calls, non-provision (perhaps non-existence?) of copies of documents between creditors and Herbert Davis' office, and a basic unwillingness of Herbert Davis' staff for prompt and time is of the essence assistance. It is hard to imagine this was (still is?) a professional law firm. We say this because we received a notice via e-mail that there has been a change with whom we are to start dealing with. So instead of the "Law Offices of Herbert Davis" it is now "National Consumer Advocates Inc.", 9420 Reseda Blvd. Suite 830, Northridge, CA 91324. BTW, we did our due diligence before signing into this debt resolution program and had we known then about others' experiences with Herbert Davis, we would not have done so. Really, we could have saved ourselves from this nightmare of this supposed opportunity to [responsibly] settle with our credit card companies because of our reduced financial ability to pay off our debts. How can someone do their due deligence regarding this firms debt settlement results?

I really don't know where to begin with regards to this law office. Judging from the comments I've been reading so far it makes me feel like a complete idiot after paying over $500 to get a referral to this attorney. I will do my due diligence before I pay this guy with the following questions.
1) How much is their profit from the 40 percent they charge me.
2) How much of the 40 percent that I pay will go towards the creditor that I owe money to.
3) How many years have they been in business.
4) When they settle my debt, will I in turn get a letter from the creditor agreeing that this account is paid in full.
5) Who exactly are the people that work in that law firm and what credentials do they have.
6) Is their any kick backs paid out to the company that referred me to them? If he lies to me about this, he better watch out!!
7) What is their success rate?
8) Is their anything that you are holding back and not disclosing to me as a consumer?
I am going to get all these answers from them in writing before I pay them a dime! If I feel that there is any deceptive funny business going on from this attorney, people I will run!! I also better get my freaking $500 back for being referred to him if things don't work out. If anyone can give me some insiders regarding this place I would be obliged. I'm currently retired and can't afford to get taken for money I worked hard for all my life.
