I decided to try and let it air out and hopefully the smell would go away. It did disapate somewhat but then other things started to happen. I began to feel itchy when I sat in the chair. Now about 2 months ago I started having terrible pain like needles sticking me all over my body when I sit in the chair.
I went to the doctor and had tests done and and she didn't find anything unusal. Feeling bad I sat in my chair for longer periods of time. My eyes itch and swell and I have that sensation of needles sticking my skin. Yesterday I decided to do a test. I completely covered the chair with towels and blankets so none of it touched my skin and not so bad.
I am avoiding setting in it for extended periods to see if these symptoms go away. I am being referred to an Rheumotoid specialist and possible allergist. I feel that all of this is because of the chemicals in the fabric, foam and wood of this lazyboy recliner. 15 years ago I purchased products from them and had none of these problems. In fact we still own them and no problems.
Has anyone else experienced this with their products. I would like to get a refund. My couch and other chair are not a problem don't know where mine was from, maybe China? If someone else has had this experience please let me know.
