In 2003 a Federal court issued an order of protection on behalf of everone in the United States who was duped by Lease Comm. I am assuming that you were one of the people who was sued in Mass. Well we were too. Last year I went back to school to become a paralegal and have been taking legal research classes and I came across a complaint file by the Federal Trade Commission against Lease Comm. They were complaing about Lease Comm's less than reputable practices of suing their customers in Mass. thus depriving them of their legal right to defend themselves. The Federal Court ordered Lease Comm to vacate all of the judgments obtained that way. Anyway, I called the lawyer's office that was hired to levey our money and told him that he had until the end of the week to make sure that the court order was followed through because he has known about it for almost a year now and has done nothing. The order was vacated within the week. Now I just have to work on getting Lease Comm to vacate the order out of Mass and it will be all over. If you want a copy of the complaint and court order go to www.ftc.gov and go up to the top of the "home" page. Type in "Leasecomm" in the search section (do it exactly the same way I did) and you will find all sorts of things there. Print off a copy of the court order and if you don't understand it I would suggest hiring an attorney for the few hours of work it would take to get their court order vactaed. I hope that this helps you out and anyone else who had been screwed by them. Also part of that court order is for them to stop collection immediatley. So if they are still taking money from you, stop it right away. Also I would suggest talking to an attorney anyway because you might have a case against them depending on the circumstance of your case.
