Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
As a new business owner in Wisconsin, we received a call from Select Group for a credit card terminal and a check reader.

We agreed that this is something that we will need, we agreed to receive the equipment. Later that day we received a call from CIT Lease Finance Group to verify the equipment order.

They immediately required bank information and fax numbers to to send paperwork over to proccess the sale. Stating that this must be done immediatly.

The equipment arrived, was taken out of the box, replaced back into the box and shipped back same day, realizing we already had credit card tetminals in storage and were going to use them.

Ever since then Dec. 22 2003, CIT has called repeatedly non-stop daily at my house and business three or four times. We didn't even open until Jan. 1 2004.

I have talked with them in person explaining that since we don't even have the equipment anymore and never used it, they should call Select Group to get their money back. Thats when the threats started.

Attacking my credit report and the constant phone calls, usually an automated teller saying "call this number" has put myself, business and employees in a state of not even wanting to answer the phone. CIT is monopolising my business phone.

Please call me or e-mail me with what steps I would need to do to stop the harrasment. Thank You.

Hi Brad, Welcome to the many people who have been ripped off by the deciptive practices of CIT. If this information about CIT's noncancellabe leased was not presented to you at time of sale, you may have a case of "Truth in Lending". Below are some ideas about who to contact and let know. Hopefully if enough people respond, we may get something done.... You may want to send a complaint to FTC (Federal Trade Commission). I did and received a response saying they don't do individual cases. However, if they log enough complaints, they will start an investigation and possibly legal action. So here is the link: https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01 to the FTC complaint form. I've told many people about it, so you may want to do the same. Make sure you give specific examples or even let them know you have documentation of deceptive or misleading information. Please remember if things weren't CLEARLY disclosed at time of sale, this may be FRAUD in most states Also, you may want to file with your State Attorney General. I haven't given up, but it does take a while for the squeaky wheel to be heard. As far as CIT, here is their main site: http://www.cit.com/main/default.htm . Also, within this site, I found e-mails and have sent copies of my rip-off report, including a copy of all the complaints listed under Lease Finance Group in the Rip-Off Report site. Here are some e-mail addresses, you may want to send your concerns to: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], Just to let them know how you feel about their fraudulent relationships with Independent Sales Representatives. I did get the Rip-Off Report Do-It-Yourself Guide and it did have some good steps to follow. However, it was a little lacking in the cyberspace rip-offs. I've been paralleling the thoughts or ideas in this Guide to try to apply them to the internet. For example, instead of sending faxes, send e-mails. So every web site I am interested in, I look for e-mails and make up a group listing & start bombarding them with e-mails and include my rip-off report, plus any other rip-off concerns. I hope this helps. Thanks,
