Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I have read many other complaints regarding this insurance company and want to add my own. As a veteran of the Vietnam era I was informed that I was "pre-qualified" for cancer insurance at $72 biannually for the member and spouse. It seemed like a pretty good deal as they sent the money directly to the member for various treatments so in 2008 I applied for the insurance. Since they seemed to be sponsored by the American Legion I felt confident that the offer was legit.

In 2009, my wife had a mammogram and I sent in the required paperwork and we received a check for $60 shortly therafter. On my next renewal date I recieved an invoice for $76, or a yearly increase of $8. I figured, okay, that seems reasonable so I renewed the insurance.

Just a few days ago I received an invoice for $95, or a yearly increase of $40. So in 2 years the yearly premiums had increased from $144 to $190. At that point I did some research and found the RipOff Reports website (along with a few other websites) and read the horror stories about dealing with this company and the reams of paperwork they had requested before making payments.

I will be canceling my policy and will also be sending an email to The American Legion, canceling my membership and castigating them fior not doing due diligenfce before partnering with these unscupulous ripoff artists. I am only graeful that I passed up the numerous other insurance offers from these people who would treat veterans like dirt. Steer clear of this company.
