I started the process of trying to refinance a Disney Vacation Club ownership in Feb. 2008. I completed the application and waited to hear from the company. I was contacted by the company and told that I needed to retitle the ownership first before they could proceed. I contacted a company to retitle the loan and paid $327.00 to do this. After the retitle was complete I sent this information to Leisure Credit so they could proceed with financing my loan....I had already been approved for the loan. At this point nothing happened. It took multiple emails and phone calls and finally the threat of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Orlando, FL to get them to call me back. At this point it was Fall 2008 - months after starting the process. It was explained to me that due to the credit crisis the company could not obtain the needed credit to fund my loan. They also explained that they had some meetings in the next weeks to obtain the needed credit and they would be back in touch. Again, I had to start a series of telephone calls to get an update. The company finally told me that they just could not obtain the credit they needed for the loans they had recently approved - approximately three loans. Because I followed the protocol and retitled the ownership they did agree to reimburse me for the $327 since they could not fulfill their obligations of funding the loan as they said they would. I never got the reimbursement and again called numerous times to ask about this with never a return phone call. At this point I proceeded to file a complaint in November 2008 with the Better Business Bureau of Orlando FL. Leisure Credit responded back to BBB saying they would reimburse me even though they "were not obligated" to do so. BBB wanted to know if my complaint was resolved at this point. I waited another three weeks and still no reimbursement. I responded back to BBB and told them my complaint had not been resolved and that the company never sent me reimbursement. BBB contacted Leisure Credit again and this time they did not receive any correspondence back. To make matters worse their website is still live and their toll free number is still live as well with the message that they "have overwhelming call volume and asking that you leave a message and the next available agent will return your call." Talk about LACK OF INTEGRITY AND HONESTY!!!!! Yes, I am ticked!! I don't understand why people can't just be honest and do what they say they are going to do....especially if they want to remain in business. I truly believed this company was going to be able to help me refinance my loan and I gave them more than enough time to do the right thing but they have proven they can not be trusted. I hope this report will prevent someone else from getting ripped off by this company.
