Leo offered to by our airplane for 35,000, he said he would send a certified check for 42,000 from another deal that fell through but he had the check, and would send it to use to cash, then send him the 7,000 to pay for the freight charges to get the airplane to Alaska. To date he has not given a fax or phone number. Controller airplane sales cataloge folks said they had received several complanints referencing Leo Gary. I have not sent him any money nor will I. I will try and get as much information from him that I can.

Have him sent you the check FedEx Overnight with Saturday Delivery, what ever is most expensive. Then send him a piece of lead instead of a check "overnight weekend delivery, etc" and bill recipient.

I also got an email from Leo Gary, wanting to purchase my truck for his client, but the cashiers check was $27,000 and my truck was $20,000...you can read all the emails he sent, I posted them.... In the end we told him to come to the midwest and do business the way we do, face to face, with hand shakes, banks and actual amounts. Haven't heard from him....hmmmm You know when the offer is to good to be true..... I also let AUTOTRADER.com know that this person contactacted me and it was a fraud...they didn't care..... So....look out after yourself !!!!!

He doesn't want your airplane. Go ahead and sell it to someone else if you get an offer. Throw away that check and don't talk to him any more. It is just a scheme to turn a phony check into $7000 cash at your expense. His name doesn't matter. They will just make up another name after a while. Any time someone sends a check for more than the purchase price and wants you to send some back, it is a scam. Notice that he didn't try to haggle the price, didn't need to inspect the plane in person; two things that ANYONE who was actually going to buy a $35,000 airplane would do. There are organized rings that look at magazines and online ads for big-ticket items for sale: cars, boats, horses, motorcycles, etc. and try to work this scam.

Don't bother getting any further information from him "that you can". THIS IS A SCAM. Otherwise you'll be like all the other fools on this site that fall for this very same scam and are out their money and then come on here and complain about how they were ripped off and how bad their bank is and yada yada yada. You might try contacting your local police dept. and explaining the situation to them.
