I bought a JVC hard-drive camcorder. Trying out under the bright lights in the store and on a tripod it seemed to work well so I spent $700.00 and purchased it. Immediately after getting it home and trying it I realized it was a piece of garbage. It worked terribly indoors; everything looked too dark. The image stabilization is the worst I have ever seen. It is almost impossible to get a picture that isn't blurry.

I went to the their website to look up the "Platinum Promise" where it says, "If for any reason you're dissatisfied, we promise to do whatever we can to make you happy."

Apparently that means when you go to return a substandard piece of equipment that you bought it means they refuse to do anything other than give you directions to the JVC dealer. When I pointed out to the Customer Service Manager it wasn't broken just poor quality I was told I should have read the return policy more closely so I wouldn't be having these kinds of problems.

I then wrote a letter to Marcel Marquis the Store Manager outlining my problem and suggested solutions which included either a full refund or a partial refund with the purchase of another camera. True to their stellar customer service he has yet to return my call.

Today I thought I would give Marcel some assistance - he is probably so busy he forgot to call - and call him direct. I was told that he wasn't in and I couldn't leave him a message because he doesn't have voice messaging. Can you believe that BS? A Store Manager without voice messaging!!?? Hardly.

So, to recap.They sold me crap. They wouldn't let me return it. They blamed it on me. They tried to pawn me off on the manufacturer. They didn't acknowledge my correspondence. They ignored my solutions. They lied to me about not having voice mail.

I was contacted by the Store Manager who let me return the product and select another. It's too bad it went as far as it did but I am happy and Leon's is no longer in my 'bad books'. A little wiser; I will consider them for my next furniture purchase.
