Not a huge rip-off but something needs to be stated. I went to the Les Schwab in Bellevue to get a tire repaired. I gave the tire technician the unique key to remove my lug nuts. He said he would put it back in the holder in my wheel well when he was finished. They fixed the tire and sent me on my way. Got a flat about a month later and guess what, no key to take off tire and put on spare.

Called Les Schwab and notified them of the small issue. Customer service person was busy and said that they didn't have it. I then asked the building manager to replace the $27 socket and he said no. His staff always puts the key back he exclaimed and it was now a dead issue. He was very unpleasant and very defensive even though I was very polite. So I just went to VW and bought another one because I wasn't going to make a huge issue out of it.

I have purchased two sets of tires and a set of very expensive wheels previously and have had little issue with them. But he was so unpleasant that I will not buy from Les Schwab ever again. They have now lost a good customer.

If you do take your car there, be sure to asked them to return the key directly to you. You do not want to be stuck on the side of the highway in the middle of the night with a flat tire without a way to change it.

So Jenifer, if Les Schwab is as wonderful as you claim, how come you don't even buy your tires there??? Reference your statement:"I cannot count the number of times I have had flats repaired (on tires that weren't even Les Schwab's)" So what do you do? Buy tires at Goodyear, puncture them with miscellaneous objects and then go flash the guys at Les Schwab for a free repair? Did Goodyear ban you? And so what do you do for preferred service at Freddy Meyer?

First of all, the vehicle I am driving has no bearing on what I posted here. For your information, I used to work for the NW District offices of WMI, and trucks that constantly drove through there often times dropped miscellaneous items out of their vehicle boxes that were very sharp and great at puncturing tires. It amazes me that you attacked me like that for no reason whatsoever. IMHO---you really enjoy sitting on this site and putting people down for no reason other than to get your kicks. Like my parents told me many years ago-when someone puts someone down for no realisitic reason, it is usually just to make themselves feel better. And, YES---they DO come running to my car. I am sorry you find that so difficult to believe that a female doesn't have to flash her breasts to get good service somewhere. You must be one of 'THOSE' guys. I prefer to use my brain instead of my beauty---even though I possess both. And, YES, I am quite aware of how to spell my own name, thank you very much. Please point out any other spelling errors that you may have found in my rebuttal. You can't? How come??? Your pompous remarks have been very well received. Maybe you can crawl back into the hole you seem to have snuck out of now. You are a jerk.......

I know of no company that comes running to my car when I pull in. Are you driving in topless? That may explain all of the flat tires you get fixed free, and where are you driving that you get so many flats? I actually saw a moron in an office park on NW Connell in Beaverton last week driving on a nearly flat tire. Was that moron you? BTW, do you spell Jenifer with one n because you never learned to spell it correctly?

Hey Jenifer why don't you read up on how great Les Schwab is. Here on Rip-off it will take you hours just to read all the complaints, and that is just this site. Are you married to one of their worthless assistant managers? You really need to wake up. Les Schwab used to be great. Today they are just a money hungry company that sells inferior products.

I agree-you should have checked your key chain before you left the parking lot-otherwise, how do you expect them to replace it and take responsibility a month later. As for the ex-employee who says they are only after the money...LOL!!!!! I cannot count the number of times I have had flats repaired (on tires that weren't even Les Schwab's) and brake adjustments done and HAVE NEVER BEEN CHARGED A PENNY!! The employees at Les Schwab have never been less than courteous to me every time I have been in there---they bend over backwards to work me in between appointments because they know I have to go to work. What other company do you know of where they come running to your car when you pull in? I don't know of any! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LES SCHWAB!!!!!!!!

...if you had noticed the key was missing right away. Unfortunately whenever someone does work for you these days you have to check up on everything they did.

Wow!! I worked at les Schwab for over 10 yrs and heard this story so many times. People wake up Les Schwab could care less about you, All they want is your money. They never take blame just pass it on. In most cases the hourly employee is honest and hard working, But they are pushed so hard by what I call "n**i" assistant managers, That they often forget the small things such as peoples wheel lock keys. you probably talked to an assistant manager. And let me tell you they are the biggest bunch of slime balls you can amagine. Sure some stores are great and take good care of you. But most of the big city stores don't care about you or the worthless warranty they brag about on TV & radio. In my opinion Costco or Where I work now "Americas Tire" is the best bet to get great service and Great prices. Just price shop Les Schwab next time you need Snow Tires or All season tires. Then call 3 or 4 other tire places and You will find Les Schwab is far more expensive than any other store. And beleive me the Les Schwab warranty is JUNK.
