Ok Marc, Letstalk.com is not an exclusive T-Mobile re-seller. I invite you to visit their website, www.letstalk.com, and see all the companies they are re-selling. On that list you will see (just to name a few): Cingular Nextel Sprint Verizon Alltel Cellular One Centenial Wireless Cricket Dobson Einstien Suncom US Cellular Qwest There are even more if you visit the website. How is T-Mobile an accomplice? There are a number of consumers that thrive on getting cheap deals, which at the time they believe are phenomenal. Why get your brakes done at the corporate dealer when you can save hundreds by going to a local body shop? Who do you trust more? I would trust the corporate dealer more. Where would you save more money? At the local body shop. Now, if you're car's brakes were replaced and later failed? Who would you hold responsible? The corporate dealer? Or the local body shop? The local body shop. Would the corporate dealer be an accomplice? No. You CHOSE to go to the local body shop. Same scenario with the cell phone world Marc. There are a number of 3rd party dealers for EVERY cell phone company, it's no different than almost anything else in America that you can buy.

Seems to me, T-Mobile is at least an accomplice in this fraud, while trying to keep their hands clean. They apparently are letting this go on with a wink and a nod. I wonder if the owners of T-Mobile would be concerned, knowing their name is being dragged through the mud by these third-party con men. I know I just decided to not use T-Mobile.

Actually, I mistakenly filed this Rip-off Report under T-Mobile. The complaint IS with Letstalk.com. However, as T-Mobile allows Letstalk.com to resell its phones and plans. Perhaps a review of their status as a reseller is in order. I have since contracted directly with T-Mobile and am (so far) quite happy with their service. I would be happy to forward the screenshot of the offer from Letstalk.com to T-Mobile or any interested parties. I have been assigned case numbers with T-Mobile and The Better Business Bureau regarding this incident and am awaiting responses and requests for documents.

I completely agree with Robin, if you are a bit skeptic prior to signing up for service, go to a direct company owned store. Or confirm things by dialing 800-937-8997. This issue has risen more than once on this forum. Letstalk.com, is an internet re-seller. They are not the actual service provider. They are not T-Mobile. Many will say, "T-Mobile has to fix this." Well, there is only so much T-Mobile can do. If you want to switch your rate plan, we can do that. If you want to cancel service, or add another service, we can do that too. Inquire about what plan you have? We can answer that. We cannot fix the deal made between you and somebody not from our company. Can we correct the issue from the day you call us moving forward? Yes. Can we compensate you for the other party's mistake? No, they should, but rarely do. This is in no way meant to seem like T-Mobile doesn't make mistakes. In a company this big, people are bound to make mistakes. However, at least if we make the mistake - we can fix it ourselves. Most re-sellers cannot fix their own mistakes and you're stuck paying for it.

Just real quick - Your report should actually be filed under LetsTalk.com not T-Mobile. LetsTalk is not a T-Mobile company - They are a third party vendor. They have permission to offer T-Mobile service and contract, as well as T-Mobile branded phones, however other than that are not connected. My recommendation - ALWAYS start service with the company itself...Either via the company website or a company store.
