Foolishly bought a chrysler cirrus 95 from Ross "Hawkeye", who is a wholesale buyer for Liberty Buick in Arizona.

Knowing little about cars I idiotically trusted Ross. The car had to have MAJOR air conditioning work right away. It still doesn't work right!

The battery was FOUR years old and died two weeks after the check was signed.

Other things: Liberty Buick said they would fix the passenger side window. After taking it in it still doesn't work!

Now, the cam seals are leaking and the rear main seal is leaking. All this in three months of buying the car.

Liberty spokeman called me and said he doesn't like unhappy customers. He said he would call back to help.

NEVER did he call back. Ross said the same thing after hearing about the air. He never called back either.

Not only do they sell rotten products, steal your money, they LIE.

You forgot Real Estate Agents. The three least respected occupations in the US are Car Salesman, Lawyer and RE Agent. I'm not sure of the particular order. Sorry for interrupting.

The car is TEN years old!

Let me start by saying I think used-car dealers are the scum of the earth, just like lawyers. But holding a salesman responsible for the quality of a ten-year old wreck is a stretch by any standard. Of course the car is junk, it's way past it's useful life. That's why the previous owner sold it. After five years cars start to fall apart, and unless you really know cars and have money set aside to frequently fix them, stay away from them. Used cars are a gamble, the owners sold them for a reason, and that reason usually isn't good. Therefore, NO WARRANTY. The dealers would gladly warranty the cars if they knew anything of their history and knew the maintenance, but they have no way to tell if Evel Kneivel had just jumped a canyon with it. The cars come from auctions, and could be abused repos, wrecked cars, flood cars, etc. Detailers clean them up and the salesmaen play the odds, hoping they last a while.

never thought twice about screwing a customer

I once worked for Liberty Buick. The Service Manager there at that time was the biggest crook who ever walked the earth. He never thought twice about screwing a customer or an employee. Whats even worse the Moore's (owners of Liberty Auto Group) thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. It is funny how these kinds of people seem to find each other. I would not send anyone there not even my mother in law and god knows she probably deserves it.

To the Great Thorn... I find it funny that you wont use your real name... Would that be because you are scared to reveal who you really are... I work for a dealer in KC... I know some folks that work for Liberty Buick, in fact the Service Manager is someone I know very well... PDI's are to be done on all used cars that are to be retailed... There is a reason that Liberty Buick is the #1 Buick dealer in the WORLD. Think about that. However, if I used car that came in on trade is going to be sold to a wholesaler (such as the one mentioned in the first letter). The cars are usually put on "wholesale row" and set aside for wholesale buyers only... This means after the wholesaler buys the car he will then sell the car to someone else. This leaves the dealership out of the mess. I apologize for the trouble Clair has had with the car. I will agree that there are some folks in the automotive business that are deceptive... I hate this because I can say that I have never lied or misled any of my customers. Great Thorn if you have something to say... Dont be scared to take the consequences of what you say, tell people who you really are... You spoke of credibility in your first statement... What kind of credibility do you have? You wont even tell people who you are... Thank you,

Thorn is wrong

I worked at Liberty Buick for four years I know firsthand that they do PDI ALL of the cars they sell on the lot. Clair bought a 95 model in 2002 from Ross who is a wholesale buyer? It sounds like she bought a car from a specific wholesaler not at Liberty Buick. Which is why she received no help from the dealership once they researched and found that they didnt acutually sell her the vehicle but that she bought it from a wholesaler who used the name to make himself sound credible. I worked at Liberty during the time in question we did not have a salesman by the name of Ross. so mr. Thorn your assuption that liberty does not do PDI's is incorrrect it does however sound that mr. Thorn just doesnt like car dealers in general so please dont assume you know what your talking about if she bought a seven year old car from a wholesaler it is her own fault for not having the car checked by a mechanic BEFORE she purchased it. Liberty Buick has a full time customer satisfaction representative who does her job of making customers happy with great enthusiasm I know this because she had on more than one occasion came to me to resolve issues my customers had and with communication everybody was happy. So dont assume you know what your talking about Thorn because you dont.

The Great Thorn feels that Liberty Buick in Sun City does not do pre delivery inspections on their used cars

Hi Claire, I am The Great Thorn. Sorry as to how you were treated at Liberty Buick. I must first tell you when it comes to the auto industry you MUST NEVER trust anybody in the auto industry. Being that you might live in Sun City you might come from an era of trust and your word are enough to confirm a deal. In auto sales you must always get every verbal agreement in writing, because "Trust and your Word" mean nothing in the auto industry. Sounds to me that Liberty Buick likes to skip over the process of doing what is called a "PDI" Better know as " Pre Delivery Inspection" to keep the profit up. Some car dealers do this PDI Inspection before they put their cars on the lot for sale. If your car has never had a PDI, God only knows what is wrong with it or what kind of problems you soon will have. Some car dealers do NOT want to know what is wrong with thier inventory, Just sell it and take the buyer's money. I am willing to bet that this dealer knew that the battery was bad before you got to the lot. they might have had to jump start this car many times before you bought it. If this sucky car dealer has in fact done a PDI on the car they will have a record of it on file. If they have a record of a PDI Inspection on your car, I bet they will not let you see it. As far as your window not working. They might have just sprayed it with WD 40 and told you a bunch of crap because the used car manager told the sales manager to not spend a dime on this old car. maybe told him or her "hey we made BIG MONEY on this car and let's keep it that way". don't spend a dime on this old sled, tell her that she bought a uesd car. AS far as your oil leaks. Most of the time car dealers will spend more money on making cars pretty, you know have everything steam cleaned and blow off the leaking oil under the car. Your car very well could have had a oil leak the day you bought it. They might have spent $20 bucks having the whole car cleaned to hide any oil leaks. If in fact that Liberty Buick does have a "spokesman" I Feel that he or she is paid to do NOTHING for unhappy car buyers. They might just make you feel good by pumping you full of BS and kick you to the cirb. If I were you I would do what I am going to do for you. I The Great Thorn will fax a copy of your Rip Off Report to this so called Liberty Buick. This way they knwo that they have made the Rip Off Report. Their fax number is 623-933-7007 Claire try this. This is a way for you and other folks to really understand just how powerful this web site really is. Go to www.google.com and type in rip off car dealers and hit search. I am willing to bet that in the top 4 or 5 you will find many Rip Off Reports on bad car dealers. In a short period of time when a person types in Liberty Buick in a search engine, Guess what will happen. www.ripoffreport.com will pop up with a Rip Off Report on Liberty Buick. Tell everybody you know if they know of a bad car dealer to file their own Rip Off Reeport right away. This is a fast was to expose deception. Go to www.google.com click advance search and type in Toyota Rip Off. See how many Rip Off Reports POP UP. You can also go to www.yahoo.com and type in "Toyota Rip Off" and Rip Off Reports on Toyota will POP UP real fast. Car buyers should always com to the Rip Off Report before going to ANY CAR DEALER! Claire call this dealer and ask to speak to the service department, and then ask to they in fact do PDI's on used cars before they sell them. If their SERVICE CLOWNS say yes. Go down there and ask to see the PDI inspection "check off sheet" on the car you bought from Liberty Buick. Signed
