Feb 2004 I contacted Liberty Debt Management for information of their services. I was told they charge 3% of my total debt as their "fee". They told me they will immediately stop the harrasing calls from my creditors and will be in touch with my creditors the minute I sign their contract. I was stressed out and signed their contract after making several revisions and notes on it. Worst decision of my life! I paid them $1k immediately then began debting my account $200 per month. I was told they money was going into an account to use to pay off my debt. They lied.

Almost immediately my account was shuffled around from Kathleen to Amica Shelton, the rudest woman who ever lived. I called her everytime I got a call from the creditors, and I asked her if LDM had contacted them (creditors) yet. She said yes. I called the creditors against LDM's advice and they said they never heard from LDM at all. Then the threatening letters came from my creditors and collection agencies. I forwarded all letters to Amica Shleton. Again I asked her if they had worked out any solution with my debtors. She said yes.

Nov of 2005 I received court documents from 2 of my creditors. I AM BEING SUED NOW! I told LDM and aksed for their help. they said "read your contract, we never said we would help you if you were being sued". Then I aksed for all documentation between Libert Debt Management and the creditors. They ignored me. Still ignore me.

I went to an attorney who told me I should "sue the hell of of them" and immediately stop their automatic withdrawal of my money. I went straight to my bank and revoked LDM from my account. LDM kept trying to get through my account. I had to close my accounts and start over.

I have to go to court now, have paid almost $1k in court fees and will most likely have to declare bankruptcy or have my wages garnished. Which most likely means losing my job. I need legal help desperately but can't afford it. BEWARE of all Debt Management programs. Per Suze Orman, the only place you can trust is the Consumer Credit Counseling organization. I wish I knew then what I know now. If Liberty Debt Management ripped you off PLEASE file a report with the Better Business Bureau, Ripoffreport.com use any blog you can!! They must be stopped.
