Life Mates, The Relationship People My membership fee of more than $4000.00 has yielded very few results London, Ontario
In 2007, I had an appointment with a fellow named Sean Waterman at the local Life Mates office in the city where I live, London, Ontario. After filling out all their forms which took more than an hour and a half, he told me that he thought they would be able to match me up with some fine male members. I then told him that I was Jewish and only wanted to be matched with Jewish members. He assured me that would not be a problem. If they were not able to find any Jewish members in London, they would search in Toronto, a city about 2 hours away. I then paid my membership fee which is good until I find a mate and entitled me to 18 "referrals".
After leaving, I felt like I had been duped and so I went home and did some online research, something I should have done BEFORE I went to my appointment. Much to my horror, I found multiple online postings by people who had had very negative experiences with this company. I contacted them and said that I wanted to cancel my membership and asked for a refund. No can do, I was told.
So, I had my first referral about four weeks later. This was with a guy who was an insurance salesman from a small town not too far from London. He and I had absolutely NOTHING in common. NOTHING.
Several weeks later, they matched me up with a recovering alcoholic. No dice as far as I was concerned. They neglected to mention his "recovery status" when they called me so I accepted the referral. Since then, I've been matched up with four more gentlemen none of whom have been very interesting.
When I called back to complain about the fact that not ONE of them had been Jewish I was told, "Well, we don't have very many Jewish members." So, I explained that Sean had said they could match me with Jewish members from Toronto and I was told, "I really doubt that somebody is going to want to drive for two hours just to have a date!" So, there you have it. I have now used up six of my 18 referrals. One to a guy who installs concrete driveways. One to a guy on a disability pension because of an anxiety disorder. You figure out for yourself if you want to spend $4,000 for something like this. I am really sorry that I did!
