Life Scan offered a $20. rebate. I sent in the requested documents to obtain my rebate (receipt, form, meter serial number)but the company did not comply. I called 4 mo. later to find out about the rebate and they claimed that the rebate docs. that I had sent them were not received. R.Deloach from rebate dept. in their customer service phone number (800 227-8862) asked me to send a copy of the docs. by Fax which I did. If I didn't have a copy the rebate would be entirely lost.
A customer service person called me an hour later asking for the rebate information. When I told her that I had sent it in by fax to Mr. Delouch she said that there was no one in her company with that name, as if I was lying or had spoken to an employee that does not exist. She also said that they would senfd the rebate, but that if I did not receive it in four weeks I should call them again at which point I told her that customers should not be made responsible to be calling repeatedly in order to obtain a rebate offered by a company.
I believe that this is a highly suspicious operation. Had I not kept a copy of the rebate documents, and had I not followed up with a phone call they would have gotten away with not paying, also making me responsible to call them to get them to comply is unacceptable. Furthermore, they denied the existence of an employee that I spoke to, and who gave me a valid fax number for the company is totally outrageous.
