Ligaya Software [email protected] Took $3000 for PayPal Clone Software and refused to provide communications or product following successful payment. Internet, Internet
We investigated using the Enterprise Version of Ligaya's Paypal Clone Software software for a special project not to become another PayPal but to provide billing services for a niche industry.
After confirming the technical and functional specs met our requirements and the available add-ons were advantageous, the license fees were paid and some brief design discussions ensued regarding layout. The communications leading up to the purchase seemed very professional, courteous and prompt - communicating with us using excellent English which put us at some level of ease.
The software was purchased through PayPal (I know - irony) because they didn't accept checks or have any payment processor of their own. So after payment was confirmed, no further emails received a reply, no other communications were received from them whether it be status reports, ETA's or any kind of update.
When it became clear they took our $3000 and simply left Dodge, we initiated a PayPal dispute, filed a chargeback and won the dispute. During the dispute, someone named Bobby Walters (I presume the PayPal account holder) claimed he was scammed too which I believe is pure baloney.
I researched the company and confirmed they are based in the Philippines. I have a contact who lives in that country and the address they used points to a hole-in-the-wall convenience store. My contact assured me that further pursuit would require an overseas investigative effort so in the interest of not throwing in good money after bad, we shelved the project until another suitable product was identified.
All in all, this was a simple case of a scam. To those who are considering using this company - BUYER BEWARE.
