Lightning Auto Sales We sell DISPOSABLE cars cause they dies after 6 - 8 Weeks Soringfiekd Illinois
Lightning sold a car to my elderly Mother. The sakesman Eddie assured her it was a good sound car. after 6 weeks the car mysteriously needs $_1,500.00 work done on it. Eddie assured her they checked it over, and it was a good car They had her sign an As Is No Warranty paper, but initially told her they would give her a 3 month warranty on it. Then said because they gave her a discount off the price on approximatelt 200.00, that now she can't have the 90 day warranty. She spent all her savings on the car, and Trusted Eddie on the soundness of the car I know there is nothing that can be done, but I want to save another person from this scam artist dealership. Apparently they Rig the card to run enough to get them to run for a short time. They could care less if they sold a piece of crap to a trusting person.. Don't buy from them, and please spread the word. Be ware of Lightning, it's strike is deadly.

Why are you complaining about the dealer? "AS IS" means exctly that.
Giving her a discount removed the offered warranty, this is a decidetful way to do things, yes, but you do know "Used Car Dealer" is a bad name, meaning "dishonest" to everyone who understands that, right?
She needed to be armed with MORE information or HELP from you. Right?
Is your mother not competant to manage her business dealings? If so, why were you not with her to purchase, and to protect her?
If you had been around or gone with her maybe you would have told her to get the car inspected, as is her right to do, BEFORE purchase.
Blaming her AGE ater the fact? If she can read, and drive, and runs her own life HERSELF, and could afford the car payments then she should be complaining, not you.
How can they "Rig" any car to run a short time only?? There is NO "mystery" to an older UNINSPECTED USED CAR needing $1500, or more, work.
You are right on one thing, nothing to be done, but there was no scam.
