Lindsay (sp?) McAllister lived with my neighbor Bill Workmiester at my condo facility on Post Oak Blvd in 2007. Lindsay had a drug problem and was a dancer and Bill tried to help her as he had done for so many other people and many of us.

During this time, there was a number of unaccounted thefts at the property, Lindsay crashed Bill's car through our parking gate on purpose, she ran through hallways naked and screaming, and caused all other kinds of issues at our complex. There are numerous reports filed with the facility HOA. Also, a petition was circulated to get her removed from the building in late 2007.

Neither Bill nor our facility has been paid a penny back of the damages caused. Poor Bill had a lien place against his condo and couldn't even sell his unit until paying off the gate damage. Further, no one from our condo was even heard at the arraignment hearing. Why?

Well apparently, Lindsay's mother was a leader in Mercy Street Church and her Dad runs a rehab associated with the church. Mercy Street is also "helps" the county's drug court. The Pastor of this Mercy Street Church, Matt Russell, stormed the courtroom, prevented letters from Bill from being passed to prosecutors, and was seen speaking with court staff according to Bill and the "rumors." To date, this girl has not paid a penny to Bill, our condo, or other victims. She has not done a day in jail!! I love Bill's posting to the court forum and am also waiting for the Mercy Street victim's fund.

After using Bill to support the case Lindsey shouldn't go to jail, these people threw him to the side and blamed him! An order prevents her from speaking to him - or more likely was put in place to hide her from everyone she owes money to. I wonder if they made up negative things against him and the girl did to try to justify herself.

Bill treated that girl like a queen. When she crashed the car, he defended her to the HOA. When the petition was circulated, he continued to defend her. He paid for her rehab and drove her there. He even threatened her drug dealers. Bill is a hero. To this date, I have never heard him say an ill word about her, only the mother and this church.

Bill is great person. He supports a number of non profits in town and took several people into his property, including Udochi and Baron, one of the old doormen, when they were in trouble. This is a flat out joke!

The lowest form of people are hypocrits. The daughter of their leadership victimized our condo for months, they did nothing to help her while we did, and then they take no reponsibility and blame others. The religious ones are always the worst! True charity happens in the streets, not from the pulpit! True Christians are Christians in good times and bad. They don't run to God and a church only in the bad times... when they have drug habits or issues.

Several residents have been contacted by the media recently and I am glad this story is going public. This story needs to be exposed. Bill has asked us to stand up behind him and we all gladly do. Lindsay and Mercy Street need to learn to take responsibility for their actions and not take the easy way out by blaming others. The priest is being investigated by the State and I hope he is brought to justice for trying to influence a court.

Other residents please post and demand justice!

I met Bill over 3 years ago. He has always been an up standing person and a good friend. He always is trying to help somebody in need and some times ends up on the short end of the stick. For instance, Lidsey Mcallister. I heard throught the grape vine that he was helping a girl that had some drug problems. He paid for her rehab and gave her a place to stay. Then I heard she crashed into our gate and Bill had to pay for it. Even after that he still stuck by her side. There are several other people that Bill has helped in the past. Unfortunatley when you are always doing kind things for other people inevitably someone will take advantage of your good nature. No one should be above the law. Lidsey should have to pay for what she did. There should also be consiquences for the people who let her off.

Lindsey was a very nice and polite girl. I think that everything that happened is a shame and this just goes to show you how drugs can destroy lives. Lindsey, her parents, and many of us at the condo were affected. For months, Bill would lament to me that the mother and father showed little interest in getting involved. I think Bill tried to help and quickly found himself over his head but at least he tried to do something. In the end I think he was effective. I believe that Lindsey would not be alive today if Bill and others did not intervene. Bill made significant sacrifices. The mess of that issue caused problems for Bill with business partners and friends and he couldn't date while it was going on. Lindsey would sleep on his couch each and every night. His social life was nonexistent during the period and he was always stressed out. It is a shame that the parents do not enforce accountability. It's a year and a half later and no one has been repaid. Drug addicts always want to find someone else to blame. The lack of accountability further enables this continued behavior. I definitely think the court action should be investigated given the parents and Mercy Street Church's relationship with the court and the drug rehab she is at. We should be understanding of people with drug problems to a point but justice should be fair and equal. When a crime is committed the drug addict is now a criminal just like any other criminal. The courtroom is not a place for favors and addicts should not be given a separate and privaleged justice.

I was fortunate enough to be roommates with Bill for quite a while. He is one of the nicest, most ethical, morally responsible people I have had the pleasure of knowing. If I had to find one fault in his personality, it is that he is too nice to people at times, even to his on detriment. There was one incidence when he introduced me to a nice girl named Lindsey that he expressed to me his concern about some of her issues and her well being. I believe the way he was represented by certain people in that incident was not only unfortunate, but unfair, to such a honest upstanding person. I feel that the parties should be accountable for the damage to the condo and Bill's personal property, and do the responsible thing and make reparation for the all the damages. Sincerely, C-

I definitely agree with everything you said about Bill. I've known him for many years, both personal and business. Bill is an extremely genuine guy who puts others before him and has proved it in many ways from taking in people in need of help to supporting non-profit organizations. Also as a resident of the condos I've seen the video of the car/gate incident and it would be nice if someone besides Bill would take responsibility. I'm positive if Bill damaged someone else's vehicle he would take full responsibility...no questions asked!
