Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We contacted Lindsey Porter regarding an AKC registerable Miniature Schnauzer that was party colored. My son had been wanting one and he had been very ill. We spoke to her several times regarding the puppy and sent payment overnight to her so she would hold the dog for us. Once the payment arrived supposedly the puppy was sold and she had another one similar. It took almost two months for her to ship the puppy due to weather and timing issues with her traveling to the airport.

When the puppy arrived the papers were with him, but not signed by Lindsey. I submitted the paperwork to AKC and they will not accept or register the dog without a bill of sale or some paperwork stating information regarding the date of transfer, papers AKC numbers and puppy registration number.

I contacted Lindsey for over two months and was not able to receive the information. I called her left numerous messages, even spoke to her a couple of times and emailed her. The response was we will get them to you. But nothing. I finally recieved a brief one sentance stating she sold me the dog. I contacted Lindsey again and told her that AKC would not accept the one sentance statement to register the dog and AKC stated they would not accept this. She said because I was rude and told her I would report her, she would not provide me any documentation for this puppy. I had become very frustrated with the lack of help I was receiving from this supposedly "excellent" breeder.

Lindsey stated that she had been riped off by another breeder and there was nothing she was going to do to help me register this puppy. She said AKC would do nothing to help her and it didn't matter as she doesn't know much about AKC and only her husband can help me. Lindsey stated to call him between 10-11pm and "maybe" I can catch him to get the paper work.

I only want the information that I need to register this dog. It is a very simple process and would take Lindsey less than 10 minutes to complete and I wouldn't have to contact her or even be bothered with all of this.

I am concerned as this puppy does not look like my other Schnauzer.

My son, who is ill, does want to have a litter of puppies with his female Schnauzer...hence we purchased a male for him to breed with her. But we will not be able to register this dog or the puppies as Lindsey has only provided us one sentence statement that AKC refuses to accept. The AKC papers were not signed by Lindsey and this is what started the problem. I emailed the details to Lindsey and Justin over eight times as to what I need the letter to AKC to state regarding the sale. This was over a 4 month period. I called and left messages as to what I needed the letter to state. When or if I received a reply the reply was, "what did you need again." I even emailed Lindsey the requests from AKC that specified what they needed, her comment was why are you sending me this. I left numerous messages for Lindsey's husband. I was told the only time I "might" reach him was between 10-11 pm. I was never given his cell phone number. I had made numerous attempts to call their house phone but the phone is rarely answered. I never cursed at Lindsey. I don't find a need to swear, nor do I ever swear. The facts speak for themselves. If I had received the paperwork, none of this would have happened. I did not write to Lindsey every day, but did make attempts to contact her 2-3 times a week after the second month of requesting the letter. I did tell her I would report her to AKC (per AKC's advice) as she had sold me a dog that was suppose to be full AKC and Lindsey would not provide the paperwork to complete the registration. I have submitted to AKC all the emails requesting the information from Lindsey and Justin as well as their replies or lack of replies, in hopes that AKC will consider this as evidence to register this dog. I have done this per AKC's recommendation. I did contacted 4-5 of Lindsey's references on her website to see if they had similar situations occur. I sent a copy to Lindsey as well. The emails are listed so people can contact them about their purchase. Lindsey's husband never confronted me about the puppy being ill. He emailed and said they were not award of the puppy being ill. I reminded him of my phone call with Lindsey three days after receiving Riddick about the bloody diarhrea. The puppy was sick. He had Coccidious. In fact, he was very sick and had to have intervenous treatments to rehydrate him. He almost died, because I didn't know what Coccidious was or how to watch for it. My vet diagnosed him with ear mites and mange as well. I have vet records to prove the situation. My vet provided treatments and the situation cleared up. I contacted Lindsey and she stated - Yes they can get Coccidious after shipping, but she was not aware of mange or ear mites. My vet stated these are common and with proper medicine clear up. My vet also stated that they don't always check for these when shipping a dog. As, I stated that my vet provided treatment and the situation cleared up. There were socialization problems with the puppy as well. But I have a trainer working with him. As I told Justin/Lindsey thru email, I was not concerned about this situation but I needed my AKC papers. My concern is and has been related to not having AKC papers. Everything I have stated as my complaint is related to not being able to register the dog. I specifically stated this to Justin and Lindsey. I just need to be able to register the dog. This situation could have been avoided with a 5 minute letter from Lindsey stating she sold me the dog, the date, the dogs litter registration number or something as simple as a bill of sale with the details. Even if Lindsey would have said, I haven't had a chance to get to this, give me a couple of weeks. I would have never filed a report. I would have been patient and continued to wait. My first requests were in October and for three months I got almost nothing. I left voice messages and sent emails. I have sent one email in January with a final request. I did not threaten Lindsey, I told her AKC recommended I file a complaint with them regarding this. I explained that I would follow this recommendation if I could not get the papers. I emailed her the email I received from AKC stating this. I believe this is why Lindsey feels I threatened her. Lindsey stated to me that AKC won't do anything about it and that she had a situation where she bought a dog and AKC didn't do anything for her. Working with these people has been a nightmare. The only thing I can do is speculate as to why I couldn't get papers on this guy. Why weren't they signed when they arrived with the dog? Use caution when buying from them. Lora Burns

This woman, Lora Burns, purchased a puppy from me for a breeder, not for her sick son's pet. (I noticed she only signed with an initial, but included my full name and website address) When I sent this lady her schnauzer puppy, I sent her full registration AKC papers with him. Completely filled out, including his pedigree. She emailed me saying she had filled something out wrong and I need to write a letter to AKC. Never specifying what I need to say in the letter to AKC. AKC sent me a form saying I needed to confirm that the specific dog had been sold to this woman and I just need to sign it. I signed it and sent it to her to resubmit with her AKC papers. Apparently this wasn't how she wanted it handled so she wrote me an email cursing and swearing that I'd pay and that she would slander me all over the internet if I didn't give her a refund on this dog. I don't appreciate being talked to like that especially for no reason. I informed her after several emails like that, if she wanted her papers she'd have to talk to my husband because I wouldn't speak to her. I gave her his cell phone number and what the best times were to reach him. She refused to call him, writing me horrible emails every day telling me how she would 'ruin' me. I had to block her email address to keep from getting these every day. After she realized she wasn't getting anywhere by threatening me she finally contacted my husband. He was very nice to her explaining to her that he would help her, as he would want his papers if he'd bought a registered dog. But also telling her she needed to change the way she was going about things. She told him what she needed and he wrote the letter exactly as she wanted. I signed it to send to her so she could get her AKC papers. It was in an envelope ready to send the next day. That day I started getting calls and emails, people informing me that this woman was sending out emails saying that her puppy she got from us was sick. Saying they had things that I have absoutely NEVER had in my kennel. These were things that if these puppies had them, my other dogs would have it and I would sure know about it. When my husband confronted her about the email, she responded by admitting she was lying, they did not have the sicknesses she said they did. After over 10 calls and emails from concerned customers in just one evening, my husband said he no longer wanted to deal with her either. My husband and I are firm believers that if you buy a registered dog, you need the papers. I do not even sell any of my dogs with limited registration. Everbody gets full registration. However, I sent her the papers, signed the form AKC sent and even signed another letter to send to her to get her papers. But everything she already put us through, slandering our business I threw away the letter. I don't know what people are thinking, trying to get help by slandering and cursing. My parents taught me respect was what got you somewhere. Not disrespect and lying. I'm sorry I couldn't make this customer happy. But if you have any questions at all, she already listed my website, www.PorterHorses.com. There are plenty of ways to contact me there. I have several satisfied customers that will tell you that I will go out of my way to make them happy with the new addition to their family. Thanks for reading this, as you know, there is always 2 sides to a story. Lindsey Porter Lawton, Oklahoma
