My name is Mike i own Bouchard electric co and put an ad in the local edge phone book under electricial contractors .
I had noticed a problem a couple of months after the book had been sent out late from when i was told it was to be sent out so i called and was told it was being distributed .I had not received any phone calls from the ad witch is a good size ads and i started to wonder why .I started making phone calls and called the office in Buffalo NY. and i talk to a nice guy out there and he told me he could not tell me how many directories had been sent out .But he did say a total of 90 thousand had been printed and there for they always keep several thousand extras copys on hand .i told him i had not even gotten one 'so they did send me one .i was in the mean time getting nasty letters for the bill i owed i decided to not pay any more til i found out what was going on .I at that time had already paid around $400 dollars out of a $1400 total bill to be payed monthy .I was giving them monthy checks and they did not even print the book for months later and from what i can find out the book was not ditributed to the full amount it was suposed to be ...I also looked at the phone book and i noticed that the white pages that is the names and phone number of the residential names were not int here .I called again the woman who was my rep .As i was explaining all this to her she was not listening to me and said i must pay the bill as i sighned the contract .I cant beleive how these people are .I asked her how many copies were sent out i have a printed paper theat said they were to send out 166 thousand to all residential and buissness in the area that the book covers well i know they only printed 90 thousand from the guy in NY .Well she did not beleive me and was yelling at that point .I also asked why they took out the white pages and shrunk the book her response to me was that was the normal way of doing buissness in the rest of the country now .I said thats hog wash .I said i wanted to know why people wanted a book that they can't look up a person living down the street .any way this copmany is way out of control and ripp me off $400 dollars .I still have not gotten one call from this book hard to beleive if they sent them out for a dollar bill size ad....
I also received a letter from the company stating they would not be redoing the Portland Maine Localedge phone book.That tells me they know they are in the wrong and screded up ....if any one has any more info please let me know from mike at (((REDACTED))).......
