Long Shadow Farm Sherman Deach, Leigh Methena liers,dishonerable,dangerous to deal with,beware,thieves, Roy, Washington
I found what I thought was described as my dream horse on Dream Horse. The horse was guaranteed sound and gentle with a disposition on a scale of 1 to 10 as a 3. I emailed the seller saying I was a grandmother and could not afford to ever hit the ground and was looking for an extremly gentle horse that I could just go out and ride and enjoy. Sherman called me the next morning. I explained that I was 72 years old and although experienced, I was very small and fragile and needed to be certain that the horse that I bought was not going to buck. I asked several times if the horse was sound. I was assured over and over that he was sound and gentle for anyone to ride. Since I was leave in 3 days to be with a family member who was having surgery, I talked with Sherman several times and we agreed to meet so that I could get the horse. Sherman asked Leigh if she would take my lower offer and she declined but did go down $500. We drove 5 hours, When I saw the horse, I said, " he's limping, what is that about". Sherman brushed it off as the horse having had a little abcess that he had punchered and he would be just fine. I asked how he got it, and was told on a rock in the pasture. Given the multitude of guesions I had asked and trusting that I had gotten honest answers, I paid in cash. When Sherman went to his truck to get my paperwork, he drove off. When I got home at 11:30 that night, the horse had been taken off Dream Horse. I called Sherman the next morning and asked for the paperwork. He said he would send it and got my address. Never did. In the meantime that day I took the horse to my Vet. The vet said he had an old injury high in his leg and was lame and no evidence of an abcess. He advised I take him to the Equine Hospital in Nampa ID. I did. The horse has an old ligiment injury and will always limp. A $1,200. surgery could help but he would still limp. So still thinking this horse was gentle for a 72 year old woman and that " anyone can ride this horse" as I was assured, my husband got on and it was a rodeo, resulting in 3 broken ribs, lacerated wrist, and other lacerations and abrasions. He is 10 years younger than me and stronger. The horse could have killed me. He is beautiful. I do have an attorney. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. They can rebut all they want, but I have documentation, and facts. Sherman refused to take the horse back. His reply was " you bought him, you sell him to someone else" which will not happen because we are reputable people. Just beware and run don't walk away from a sale from these people, even if the horse is beautiful and no matter what they swear to.

I too just got ripped off by Mr. Sherman. He is still selling horses under very false pretenses and I just purchased a very expensive lame horse. Please contact me if you would like. I would love to get everyone together and do something so that Sherman and whom ever he works for can no longer scam people and steal thier money. Please help me get my money back and maybe get your money back as well.

other ripoff reports report a stolen trailer, he did go to court on the
matter but was found not guilty by technicalities, Mr. Deach is a very
untrusting and dishonest person, drugging horses just to sell to make a
quick buck. He has never owned anything in his life as I looked into his
property possessions nothing is under his name everything is under Ms.
Mathena's name as I found. Mr deach Does live there. He tells consumers
one thing but to cover his butt he tells ms. Mathena a totally different
thing about the horse. False representation, Mr deach does not have
any grand-kids just FYI.

I am very glad that you sued and won. I am also very glad that you have enough class to not sell this problem and danger to someone else or slaughter! I also still have the horse that he ripped me off with. But sadly I do not have the money to sue. Leigh is just as much to blame as Sherman. Sherman more or less does all of her dirty work and carries out her orders. Before I forget he is listing himself as S. Royal now. I am told that Sherman still doesn't live there but I know he does. I see another report here that he is wanted in Oregon for stealing a horse and trailer? That is grand theft so I wonder why he hasn't been arrested. I am sure we extridite to and from Oregon. I would like to find out. Well like I said I am so happy someone was able to bring him to justice. Too bad the rest of us can not. I am very pleased that you did. Thank you!

After a year of hassle I sued Sherman Deach and won. I now have a lein against him for the sale of the lame, bucking horse I bought from the ad placed by Leigh Mathena and sold by them. I did not win against Leigh but she had to hire a lawyer to defend her and I hope she had to pay a lot for her part. She will pay in the end. I now just have a rescue horse as I would never sell a horse like this to anyone and don't believe sending them to slaughter. He is also now about a $10,000 horse with my attorney fees and his costs. But I won. There is a lien filed so he( Sherman) will not be able to own much of anything unless I get my money. I wish more people who are treated like I was would sue.

About the time you say your incedent with Long Shadow happened, I was told by Leigh Mathena that Sherman was gone and was not coming back. I have also filed a report and wanted to let you know that you were not alone. They sure seen me coming and they also ripped me off on training another horse and lessons. I have also witnessed abuse and very unclean barn. I have also heard him lieing to other people about their horses for sale. These people are unbelievable! The horse I bought from them as 17 yrs old turned out to be sick and way over thirty. I have witnessed Sherman tranquilizing his horses before being viewed and or ridden. Well that is about it.
