The "Rapid Transit District" or RTD of Los Angeles County, which has changed its name to MTA or L.A. Metropolitan Transit Authority in a failed attempt to make its mediocre services sound fancier and of higher quality to its riders has as of late decided to allow a third party to install TV screens with LOUD speakers in their buses to further annoy, distract, harrass, and molest its PAYING riders AND bus drivers.

This new policy is even in violation of its own policy of disallowing riders' radios to be blaring throughout the bus, as it at minimum, causes a distraction to bus drivers and puts everyone in the bus at risk of an "accident."

Additionally, riders are forced to endure commercials on these TV screens on which the volume is turned up during said commercials in an attempt to harrass already paying riders into buying whatever products or services are being sold.

The RTD's buses are ALREADY noisy enough as they are and they are adding insult to injury by not only charging us TAXPAYERS via grants from the U.S. Federal Government for monies to construct this bus system and additionally collecting exhorbitant fares.

If this is not yet EXPLICITLY illegal, it should be MADE illegal so that Los Angeles County administrators and politicians are DISALLOWED from further SCHEISTING disadvantaged, tired, and weary riders through the further collection of indirect taxes by allowing these hideous and loud boxes to be placed in OUR buses for a fee more than likely collected from the third party company which is granted the space on OUR buses for its machines.

i RIDE THE BUS FIVE DAYS OUT THE WEEK. THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT SHOULD BE COMPLAINING ARE SENIORS AND BUS OPERATORS. BUT IF YOU DID NOT KNOW THE T.V'S CAN BE TURNED DOWN JUST ASK THE DRIVER. IF IT WASN'T THE THOSE INFO-MERCIALS AND OTHER ADVERTISEMENTS THE BUS FARE WOULD BE $1.00----SENIORS $3.00---- REG. FARE $7.00-9.00----DAY PASS AND THE WEEKLY AND MONTHLY PASSES WOULD BE A WHOLE LOT HIGHER TOO. SO PLEASE STOP COMPLAINING. THANK YOU

already paying more than enough

We're already paying more than enough, Hugh, that's part of the whole point. It's not about *where* the Los Angeles County can get enough money to pay for fuel, salaries, and insurance, but, rather, that they already *have* sufficient money to pay for costs and want this extra revenue to stick in their pockets and/or pay for pet projects having nothing to do with our public transportation system. I don't know how you would necessarily know what's going on over here if you're from Kentucky and have never had to suffer through the crappy public transportation system we have over here. To equate this problem to something more common, say you had a maid who liked leaving on all the lights in your home on while you were busy at work making the money you need to pay said maid and didn't find out she had raised your utility bill twicefold through her inefficiencies. Would you say then that perhaps you should pay your maid twice her normal rate so as to give her an "incentive" to turn off your lights at home? By the way, "busses" is correctly spelled "buses" in this case, and "pittiful" is correctly spelled "pitiful." Unfortunately, I wouldn't cry for the "pittiful poor people that need the bus" [sic] because first of all I don't know who they are specifically, they'd end up crying by themselves, and secondly, in a way, we are ALL those "pittiful poor people" [sic]; we ALL wind up paying the cost for these incompetent and inefficient politicians.

Easy to solve your problem - just raise fares on MTA busses. But then you would cry for the pittiful poor people that need the bus, and can't afford to pay the higher fares. Fuel, salaries and insurance all cost more and the money has to come from somewhere.
