On October 27, 2009 I reserved a 2 br condo overlooking the ocean at Los Tules Resort in Puerto Vallarta. This reservation was made on the Internet through "Dave" at Los Tules Real Estate. When my 3 friends and I arrived we found no record of a prepaid reservation for ten days starting February 19.
Interestingly the previous February we had gone through "Dave" and reserved a 2 br condo. When we arrived we were given Condo 15-121, a beautiful 3 bedroom, 3 bath, kitchen, living and dining room condo overlooking the ocean. First class, all for the price of a 2 bedroom. We even received an e mail (supposedly) from the owner, Imelda Godinez ([email protected]) wishing us a great vacation.
Jorge and Magdelena at Los Tules were extremely helpful and we stayed the ten days but were out the original money. I contacted American Express and reported a dispute of the bill. AmEx has a fraud division but I was told this did not come under the purview of the fraud division as I had made and paid for the reservation. AmEx will try to recover some or all of the money but I'd be very surprised if they were successful.

I've spent a lot of money and i was scammed by other companies trying to cancel my timeshare. My advice is that if you're going to hire a company to help you with the problem, DO NOT PAY ANYTHING UPFRONT, because it use to be a fraud. I did a research on internet and i found some interesting articles, i recommend you to read this one:
