Loves Express Trucking (Keve Love) Love This so called Company had me Quit a job in South Daykota and move to Fl. to drive under the belief they had a contract to run for Cargill when all they have is Broker loads when they can get them. Valirico, Florida
Where to start? First of all I quit a good paying job in South Daykota to work for these folks, because they said they had work. The day I left Nebraska I got a phone call saying that the the truck was burnt down but if I came anyway I would be on the road In two weeks It took over 100 days once I got here at my own exspence.
The day before I went out I was presented alist of company rules that I had to sign saying I would comply with that stated fines that would be imposed if I were late picking up or delivering loads that ranged from 100.00 to 300.00 dollars and75.00 dollars per log violations.
Ikeep a straight log book and Im never late so I agreed to the terms.Then they told me they dont pay for extra stops,picks, or deadhead miles, they also dont give any advances. I also payed for my own drug test.
Mind you they only are paying .35 amile, also they had all these other company rules about keeping the truck spotless and wearing a company uniform which I had to buy.
Any way I complied and went to work by then I was so broke from moving and waiting on them to get the truck on the road I had no choice. I even went to work as a pizza delivery guy till they got their truck on the road.
The 1st run was from Bradenton Fl. to OkC Ok. I left on a Wedsday Oct. 10 They gave me a delivery date of Friday Oct. 12 @ 21:00 hrs.
I got to OKC OK. 6hrs early for mt appointment I got a call saying my appointment was canceled and I would have to sit on the load all weekend.
So I asked what about lay over pay. I was like pulling teeth but I got 50.00 dollars a day for two days.
After I got unloaded I sat anoter whole day before they deadheaded to Springdale Ar. for a frozen load that took me right back to Ft, Lauderdale fl.
The whole Idea of going west was to get me out of Fl.so I could run for a few weeks before a came back home.
I delivered Lauderdale and spent the night there before they got me a load to Jacksonville it was Friday the load in Jacksonville did not deliver untill Mon. So I sat all weekend ond the load no lay over pay but at least I was home.
I was told I had a load out of Ga. going back to OkC OK. after unloading in Jacksonville.
I delivered in Jacksonville @ 06:00 hrs The load to OkC Ok. Disapeared So I sat until !5:00 hrswhen I got a call telling me to strat heading to Waycross Ga. to pick up aload but they didnt have all the info and would call me later with the pick up number.
I headed towards Waycross and got about 40 or so deadhead miles (no pay) when I got a call to tell me to turn around because the plans have changed and now I would be going to Quitman Ga. on aload that had 3 picks , 1 in Quitman, ! in Sparks , And 1 in Bain Bridge Ga. with a stop in Indy and Final in you guessed it Chicago.
They wanted me there at the last pick by22:00 hrs. Mind you its already after 17:00hrs and I have around 250 miles to drive.
I made the 1st pick at 20:00 hrs it took 2 hrs to load 2 pallets of freight made the next pick by 22:00 was load by 00:30 The last pick was still 90 miles away and my hours of services were gone I got to the last shipper the next mourning.
I went to the widow with my pick up number thinking I would be getting loaded,not happening Keve failed to give me the P.O. number and I had no Phone service in that area to call for it.
I had to drive about 25 miles before I found a store that I could use a phone to call the broker.
After returning to the shipper I was placed at the back of the line and didnt get loaded untill 18:30 that night and was supossed to be in Indy by 08:00 hrs that next morning I couldnt make it so I drove to Troy Al. and went to bed.
The next day I drove to Indy and delivered and took a ten hour break and made Chicago the next day.
I got unloaded and was ready to have a breakdown I told them I wanted to turn the truck in and quit.
They got me back to Tampa 2 days before payday and it was a friday Ihad to sit on the load until monday to deliver.
I was afraid that I wasnt going to get paid so I did it. Before I quit they wanted to have asit down meeting to see if we could work it out and to see if I would still drive for them.
I agreed to the meeting and they said I just needed to give it time so they could build up repour with the brokers and this wouldnt happen again.
The truck went in for service which took another week and during that week I got sick with the Flu.
The truck was serviced and I got over the flu this took a week.
I called Keve sunday to see what he had on Monday. He said he was working on getting me a load.
He called me tuesday and asked if I would drive to Colorado with no chains I said no. The he called back and said he had a load To just outside of Washington DC This is right after Hurricane Sandy and with a Nor easter coming in I ask what he was trying to do to me. I also ask about aload out of there. He never said anything about driving the eastern sea board until that day.
When I questioned his stupidity he said I just need to drive the truck and not worry about it. Needless to say Im no logner driving for Loves Express And would advise anyone else to Run the other way.
Bottem line I made less then 1300.00 dollars in 4 months.
They run an ad on Craigslist dont fall into their trap.
