Lubrico Refusing to pay for warranty work. Internet
I purchaseed a used BMW from a private dealer in December 2011. The vehicle is blowing blue smoke out of the tail pipes at low idle. I called the warranty company and he recommended two authorized in my area. I went to one of the dealers and he noted that eventhough he works on BMW's he has never worked on this certain type of motor. We was very helpful giving me possible ideas of what could be wrong and spent an hour with me without charging me. I became extremely busy at work and was not able to pursue this matter for a few more months (which now Lubrico is using against me). In May, I brought my car to my preferred mechanic who by the way rebuilds BMW engines for a local BMW dealership. The mechanic contacted Lubrico after looking over the vehicle. The customer service rep. (John Wright) indicated that he cannot authorize a teardown of the engine because the mechanical shop is not one of their preferred shops. I spoke with John once I was informed of this and after a telephone discussion, we agreed that I would authorize the teardown and a report, including pictures with cost would be sent back. This was all done. My mechanic shop did all this and now John is back pedelling conplaining that I used an unauthoized dealer and that the problems are deemed to have existed prior to aplication of coverage. I have the Superior Protection plans and apparently does not cover much. Be ware of this company. I am arguing this as I cannot understand how someone sitting three hours away by vehicle is alsolutely sure of the issue being to have existed. There must be an organization out there that looks after the consumers on matters like this.
