I purchased a used vehicle in June 2014 from Lumberton Honda.  While testing driving and inspecting the vehicle I asked the salesperson (as a general question) had the vehicle ever been wrecked, due to the paint work that looked a little troubling.  The salesperson reassured me that the car had never been wrecked and that the dealership inspects all cars that come onto their lot before they enter the sales lot.  They are unable to sale any car with more than 25% damage done.  To make a long story short, I purchased the car.

Once I drove the car home I noticed things that were wrong and immediately started reporting the issues to the salesperson.  I had to take off several days from work to go and sit in the customer service center to wait on the car to be "repaired".  Often times the service center had to order parts to "correct" the unrepairable issues.

One day (roughly a week after purchase), I called to the customer service department and informed the receptionist that the car was pulling to the left badly my tires were wearing and I could see the threading of the tire.  She informed me of prices to have the tires replaced.  I then informed her that I had just purchased the vehicle and demanded tires be replaced.  Once two tires was replaced, I then started having issues with my AC.  Needless to say, it went out! The fan started making a loud metal hitting metal noise.  I thought first that I had possibly ran over an object in the road while traveling and it had gotten lodged in my fan.  When I removed the plastic covering to look at the fan I noticed the frame work of the car was dented and rusted.  I immediately called the dealership to inform them of my findings.  The customer service manager asked that I bring the car in so he could take a look at it.

Before taking the car back to the dealership, I took the car to a body shop.  The gentleman informed me that by the amount of damage remaining to the car and the amount of body work done to the car; he would say the car was a salvage vehicle and that it probably had a "washed title".  He then educated me on a "wash titled" vehicle and how to look for body work repairs.  He informed me that I needed to contact the dealership regarding my findings and the DMV Licenses and Theft Department in which I did.

When I took the car back for "repairs" to the AC, I requested to speak with the customer service manager.  He then took a look at the car as I pointed out all the damage and immediately turn red in the face and walked off.  He stated that Lumberton Honda did not sale cars over 25% damaged and I would need to speak to the sales manager regarding my issues.  I then requested to speak with the sales manager who NEVER came out of his office to address my issues.

As of 10 months later, I am still going back and forth with Lumberton Honda.  When the DMV inspector informed them of his findings last year and the suggestions of what they needed to do.  He was told by the dealership they would place me into another car ASAP and handle the situation.  The dealership was also informed of the title of the car being sold as a "Salvage" vehicle and that they needed to report the correct information to the DMV to have the title corrected.  This has yet to be done. I spoke to the sales manager last week and he informed me that DMV still shows a clear title. Well, of course they would seeing that the dealership has not reported the correct information.

As I stated before, I am still battling with Lumberton Honda.  I have used 14 days of personal time from work.  A numerous amount of nights unslept, and I am still paying for a car to prevent my credit score from falling into the negative numbers!

Hopefully, I am the only victim that has an issue like this with Lumberton Honda.  I would not wish this situtation on anyone!
