I took a survey and at the end of the survey they offered 3 comlimentary gifts for taking the survey. I only had to chose one gift and pay $4.95 for shipping. I chose Skin Luminant and used my credit card to pay shipping.

I received the product in the mail and 14 days later they charged my account 93.95.

I called customer service and a foreigner answered the call and said he would cancel order, my account would be credited and I would receive a confirmation number by email.

I never received a confirmation and my accoount was never credited the $93.95 so I called again and got some foreign lady named Susan. I explained what had happened and she said just one  moment and  we were disconnected.

I called the number back and after being on hold for 30 minutes Susan answers the call. She said that it was a free trial for 14 days and then my account was charged. She said if I would send the bottle back my account would be refunded the 93.95 or i could keep the product and my account would be refunded $70.00, even though, "supposely" this was a free gift to me for doing a survey.

I chose to have them credit my account for $70.00 just be done with this ripoff scam. So they made $23.95 + $4.95 for shipping.

I see several other people have filed consumer complaints on this same product. How can these people still be ripping people off like this. For years and years. Think what they are making. I wonder when and who is going to stop these people.

#2Consumer Comment

Wed, January 15, 2014

I had the exact experience with the Luminant Skin product and personnel as did the previous consumer- reporter.  My encounter with this company happened in the same way at about the same time.  I was skeptical about doing the "free gift" but since it was following a link from my employer (a major global company), which asked me to do the survey, I thought I might be able to trust it.  I took screen shots of my receipt, and of all the screens during the process.  Not one screen states that I am enrolling in a subscription plan, or that I would be charged $95.86 within 15 days.

In fact, when I called customer service for this brand is when I was first informed of the 15 day "trial period" which sort of puts the K-bosh on the whole free gift thing.  I explained that this was nowhere stipulated on their ordering pages (and I was looking believe me!) and that I had copied the screens and my receipt and could prove it.  They did not bend.  At any rate, on their own website the refund policy clearly states a 30 day refund offer even with an empty bottle.

In the end I was told (if you can believe this!) that for their inconvenience for sending me the bottle and me cancelling the subscription they would refund me $80.00.  So, I am approximately $10 ahead of the previous writer.  Further, they told me that I was sent email notifications so I should have known what I was in for.  I have not received one email notice from this company/brand.  Not even for the refund confirmation.  Taken altogether, very duplicitous and a bad experience.  Not very nice people to talk to or deal with, at all.
