This construction contractor preys on anyone but specializes in elderly and retired in the Amarillo Texas area. He presents an impressive business card titled LWC Affordable construction but fails to mention the ten or more alias names and phone numbers he has used in the past. Better Business Bureau list him as "BAD" and has conplaints from his victim's online. BBB also reports he has no local building/construction permits current. He list "licensed and bonded" on his business card and rip-offs folks for roofing, concrete work, plumbing and all general repairs / construction.
His 1st tactics are to promise quality work, finished quickly, five year guarantee, etc. His 2nd tactic is to ask for cash [will take a check] for materials only as he writes out a work proposal in duplicate. Beware the work proposal is nonsensical and the second [yellow] copy is illegible. Beware our work proposal had materials inflated [listed 6 cubic yards of concrete when 2 yards was needed.
His M.O. : he cashes the check as soon as possible and diaappears - not responding to phone calls and often changing phone numbers and company names to cover the trail of lies, and theft.
I'm filing in Small Claims Court [$115] but expect only a judgement in 3 months. I'll speak with the Amarillo Police but suspect they will not follow up even though his theft is criminal and immoral [preys on retirees]. Any information on this thief would be appreciated. Thanks
