Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Let's start from the beginning.  As a somewhat impressionable individual I regularly searched through craigslist for both modeling and acting jobs in my Las Vegas area.  I came across a posting labeled "Models and Actors Needed" of all shapes and sizes.

I thought that I would give it a shot.  I was scheduled the exact day I called for an appointment and when I arrived there were many people waiting to audition just like me.  They called me into the "audition room" where I was told to stand up in front of a camera, which I don't even believe to have been on, and there I was told to read a Coors Light commercial that looked like a 5th grader did the styling.  I sat down in front of Robert Radin along with a panel of people, one who tried to take my credit card by the name of Tom, not sure his last name.

Then Robert proceeded to tell me that I had a rough reading and that he wasn't sure if I was ready.  Then he asked me if I could make it to the auditions in LA or locally if he called me ahead of time. I said yes and the he asked Tom to "get me set up" so I could start auditioning.  I followed Tom into an office down the hallway where he began to ask me for my credit card to buy headshots.  I said I'd have to think about it and then he told me to wait and he went out into the hallway where I heard him and another lady complaining that I wouldn't give my credit card to him and he then came into the room and told me that this was my only chance and what was 375 dollars.

I decided to leave because I didn't feel comfortable.  Out of curiosity I sent my girlfriend to audition shortly thereafter and she told me that this whole show played out for her as well almost word for word.  Mind you she has never had any acting or modeling experience whatsoever.

These people are interested in charging your credit card for as much as they can with no intention of ever giving you what they promise.

I would like to recind my previous comments about this company.  Robert and I were going through a pretty heavy divorce.  I have since gotten much more aquainted with his Studio and the people who work there.  They do definitely provide a worthwhile service to anyone who is interested in acting. The children have a great time and are taught very important skills.

I've personally met many of their clients who have made it into the movie business and are working on major projects now.  Robert and I are currently best of friends and I feel very regrettful I said anything bad about his company.   I wish I could take it back.

Robert Radin is a con artist.  He was indecent with his two year old son, and has tortured his wife and family.  He belongs no where near children, and now works for a company called BIH studios playing on the dreams of little children.  He gambles the money and gives nothing to own.

I also met Robert at Mac Entertainment. I already had professional pictures so they never even asked for a dime. I was called, but only once to audition for a commercial and never heard from them since. I think they went out of business.

I'm sure the $375 was for pictures. I don't think they are a rip off.

Total Scam- Run Away

These guys are a total scam. If you think they aren't, you're fooling yourself.

Why aren't they agents? Because agents have a set of rules that they are governed by in order to be SAG or AFTRA franchised (although some choose to not do franchising, but still abide by those rules). So MAC Entertainment is a "Talent Management" company.

After you read a script for a national commercial, they tell you that you need acting class. For $250. Try telling them that you want to use your own coach. See what they say.

Same for headshots. Try not to use their photographer. See what happens. My guess is that they say the same thig for websites, etc.

This scam is OUTLAWED in California. Managers can't charge a fee prior to booking. And they are restricted on giving out business referals (headshots, acting coaches, etc). Unless, of course, they post a $50,000 bond with the state (to cover potential lawsuits)

I brought a WORKING actor friend from LA in there to see what they would say (he pretended to be a newbie). SAME SCAM. He needed to go to their classes. If you do sign with them, they will bring you in for auditions for projects that don't exsist so that you keep taking their classes.

They now work with an Extras Casting Agent, nearly promising to get their people work. If the Casting Agent does this, that's a shame. And it might be illegal in Nevada.

I would stay far, far away from these scammers. And I hope law enforcement does a full investigation. There will probably be arrests

Where are YOUR "Head Shots"

I used to work with MAC Entertainment, as a free lance photographer, but not on their payroll. I don't remember shooting you, but you could have had them done before I was working with them.

I've read these posts, and notice yours as you indicate a smashing good time with MAC Entertainment. I'm wondering, though, where is YOUR head shot. Can't you show the Head Shot they did for you at MAC Entertainment?

Please do show your head shot.

I had the same experience at MAC entertainment.  They didnt promise me anything, i paid the money got my headshots done and took an acting wokrshop.  They used my headshots and they did some submissions for me.  A shoot came up after 3 months, they submitted me, i auditioned and got an extra role and got a SAG voucher.  I found another gig in Los Angeles on my own and now i have two SAG vouchers.  If they  ripped me off i am thankful because at least i got some quality headshots and some good training from what seemed like a reputable teacher.  I am moving to LA since i am almost SAG eligible.  I am glad thy helped me out cause when they played back my reading of the Coca-Cola commercial i did, it truly was awful.  I asked them for a copy just so i remember where i started at.  If you are aspiring and need some help i would recommed them.  I have always been told never to fork out money for acting and modeling but i beleive this is for people who dream, i am sure other extras like myself have paid for headshots and a little bit of training. I'm sure there are actors out there now, who pay for training, especially speech training when they want to learn an accent so that when they go in, they slam dunk an audition and get a certain role.  Just my two cents, take it or leave it.  Wish me luck in LA. ;-)

Never pay for anything BEFORE you book a gig

The first 2 people that commented, in my opinion, work for this company.

To all aspiring models and actors- NEVER EVER pay anyone for representation. It is a scam. It is a very common scam in LA, where laws were enacted in the early 2000's to combat this behavior.

The best way to know if it's a scam is to ask if you can use your own photographer. Same goes for any other "service" they offer like acting/modeling lessons. Chances are they are getting a kickback.

If they still take you, and it hasn't cost anything... Great. Look at the contract. Make sure they are taking no more 10% (agent) or 15% (manager). Sometimes the scammers will try charge more here. Be very careful.

Agents have very strict rules and laws. Managers don't. In Las Vegas, the lines are blurred. The agency system doesn't work the same here in Vegas as it does in LA or NY. There are also plenty of BS acting coaches/schools. The best thing to do is go to a production and wait until after the show. Go up to an actor that has impressed you and ask where they train (or trained). It's a good start.

Just remember- if they are asking you for money BEFORE booking you- for anything at all- it's a scam. I'm sure the people from this agency will write something different after my rebuttal. But I guarantee you that no working actor or model mad it from one of these type places.

M.A.C. Entertainment is a legitimate company

Let me also start from the beginning.

When you are asked to come to an auditioning session for an agency or management company, you will more often than not be asked to read a simple line of dialogue in front of a room full of people to test your ability to read comfortably and interestingly. If a 5th grader had done the "styling" of the page of text, you should have been able to read it better than you did. Not everyone has what it takes to be an actor. It is not simply a career that one wakes up one morning and says, that is what I want to be.

Acting takes years of work and preparation. All professional actors take classes of all kinds; from basic acting all the way to serious scene study and character development. I have been a professional actor for over ten years and I still take acting classes...and I PAY for them!!!

If your reading was rough, then you are not ready to be sent to auditions. An agent only makes money if you book jobs. If you look like an idiot at the audition nobody makes money...therefore if you are serious about acting as a career then you need to get better at it. How exactly do you think you are going to improve? By watching Judge Judy re-runs??? You need to be in acting classes to learn the basics. Did you even slate for the camera properly? I highly doubt it.

So, if you said you were serious about getting better, then what did you expect? That they would pay for your acting classes and headshots? Do you really think you are that talented that people should invest their own money into you??? Wow, well, at least you already have the ego of an A-List actor. But aparently you do not have the talent to back that ego up.

Acting classes cost money...especially ones that will make you better. Headshots cost money...especially ones that will get you work. Did you think you would go to the mall and get your pictures taken at Glamour Shots? And how do you know that they have no intention of giving you what they promised? You didn't take any of the classes. Have you priced out acting classes anywhere in town? Have you called professional headshot photographers and priced out Head Shots??? I doubt it, because if you had, you would realize that what M.A.C. offers is quite a bargain actually.

Don't blame M.A.C. Entertainment on your inability to follow your dreams. If you can't afford to invest in your own future as an actor then I suggest you pick another career option.

Perhaps you think college should be free also? So, anyone wanting to be a Lawyer or a Doctor should maybe not have to pay tuition? Interesting take on America, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

What M.A.C. offers is the ability to advance your talent as an actor at a very, very reasonable price working with top coaches and managers.

I have a suggestion for you. Use the Rip Off Report for what it is meant for...people that have been ripped off, not for people that feel things didn't go the way they wanted it to.

No Fraud at MAC

After reading this alleged fraud of MAC Entertainment and Robert Radin, I felt like I had to respond.
As a client of MAC, I am appauled at the fact that someone would speculate on a companies intention when they obviously have no idea. I went through a very similar process as described with MAC, I however chose to allow MAC to assist me in getting proper headshots done. They were able to schedule me with an amazing photographer for this photo shoot. I have looked into having head shotsdone in the past, they were extremely expensive. I thought the $375 that MAC charged was more than reasonable. And, my pictures turned out beautifully! Now that I have these headshots, MAC Entertainment has been able to send me out on numerous auditions. I have gotten some jobs from the auditions thanks to MAC.                                      I don't know how the person with this complaint expected MAC or any talent company to help further his/her career withour having the proper tools, such as headshots. I am now enjoying an acting workshop through MAC, which I believe to be helping me sharpen my skills as an actor. I am still pretty new to this industry and I am very thankful to be able to work with Mr. Radin, MAC Entertainment, and all of its employees.
