Machu Picchu Wood Flooring - Jose Giraldo Horrible Job, Stold things from my home and yard, Bait and Switch pricing to beat competitors Los Angeles California
This company was one of four that bid my floor refinishing. The father and son team gave me a price that was normal. Later they contacted me and lowered it about $200 which really made them alot cheaper. Their website looked great, they didn't have any reports against them, so I went for it.
They left an "assistant" to sand the wood floors and then, in the middle of the job, they told me that since they gave me such a "great deal" that materials weren't included and that I would have to go buy them. I said I will buy them and deduct it from the price of the job, and they very reluctantly agreed after I showed them the bid and the e-mail proving that the materials were supposed to be included.
The father never came back to the job, but his son asked me for 65% of the payment after sanding because "most of the work was done." The son came to the job and just left the assistant to do everything. He admitted to me that he didn't have alot of experience. After they put the stain on the wood (newly installed raw wood) it looked blotchy and uneven and there were about 40 places where circular scratches and gouges left by the machine showed up. Basically it looked horrible, swirls and blotches everywhere. They told me the furniture would cover it! I told them they had to do it over and they agreed to come back in two days. They no-showed and then said they would come in two more days. No-showed again, but did come back to my house when I wasn't there, entered my property which is secured by a gate, went into my backyard and STOLD the varnish and stain and wood filler that I bought (over $300 worth) along with some hand tools that I had near my back porch.
I have made numerous calls and e-mails asking for them to return the stolen items from my house. It is obvious that they have no intention of finishing the job or returning the items that they stold from me.
