Re:Dominique Lax desire to sue Macy store complaint for "Profiling" Violation
Date of Incident: 06/06/2015

As A Result To The Profiling: I had to do 10 days in jail, pay a 1000.00 fine  and be on probation for 6 months.

(Macy employee searched my bags and purse and stole 30 dollars out of my purse. Macy sent me a collection bill stating that I owe them 150.00.

I Dominique Sandra Marie Lax went to the perimeter mall in Dunwoody Perimeter Mall, 4300 Ashford Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta, GA 30346 (770) 396-2800 to go shopping at Macy with 200.00 store credit I'd saved. I was with my mom (crystal) and  four year old son (((REDACTED))). I had used 45.00 of store credit when I bought my mom a pair of shoes.

I continue to shop for myself, my mom went outside of Macy patio area with my son because he was getting restless and started acting up in the store. My mom was sitting right outside of Macy entrance way, where the table and chairs are located and the children little play area.

I was in the store for a while still shopping, the items that I were going to buy was resting on top of my other Macy bag. I knew that I was taking a long time so I walk toward the Macy entrance doors but not pass the scanners device of the entrance. I was trying to tell my mom that I'm almost done, but I didn't see her. Later she told me that she took the baby to go get something to eat Chinese food to be exact.

before I knew it two Macy employee approach me and said to me let's talk about the things in your bag that you're not going to pay for. I was shocked "huh" I'm not even done shopping yet. Macy security and the other female employee told me to come with them.

They search my bag without my consent, detain me until the police arrived. While searching my bag I had 30.00 cash on me and 95.00 on my American Express card. They accused me of trying to steal over 150.00 merchandise.

They call it theft by deception 2010 Georgia Code

TITLE 16 - CRIMES AND OFFENSES

CHAPTER 8 - OFFENSES INVOLVING THEFT

ARTICLE 1 - THEFT

§ 16-8-3 - Theft by deception  (here in Georgia. I lived in Arizona we could walk around the store with merchandise on our bags or cart just as long as we didn't walk outside of the store.

I was in jail for 4 days. I had to go back to court regarding this on September 30, 2015. I was given by the judge without being allowed a court appointed attorney to plead my case, the judge and DA just proceed with my trial, even though I requested for a court appointed attorney. I was sentence to 10 days in jail with 4 days time serve. I had to turn myself in October 2, 2015 to do 6 more days of jail time, pay a 1000.00 fine and 6 months probation.

I was racial profile by Macy of Dunwoody, I'm looking for an attorney that will help me sue Macy. I'm not the only black woman that Macy stores has profile by their employee's. Please help me.

“I walk toward the Macy entrance doors but not pass the scanners device of the entrance”

Sometimes the scanners are located just inside or just outside of an entrance door. Did you exit the store or did you stay within the boundary of the entrance doors?
