On sat. 12/13/08 I saw a television ad for magicjack phone service. I went to their website and liked what i saw. I filled out all the required fields.

When I got to the credit card info it asked if this was a debit or credit card. I checked that it was a debit card. It than gave me a pop up box that said when you use a debit card you would be billed the $39.95 up front.

I didn't want the money taken than so I just closed out the site. I didn't give magicjack another thought. On monday my checking account was drafted in this amount. It also caused an overdraft to my account.

I proceeded to look up their phone number off their website. I called them and of course they were closed. I went on to live chat and was treated very rudely. They told me that I placed the order. I told them I never hit the submit button. I was told that I had to click on the cancel order button. Well from where I am from you don't have to cancel an order if you never placed an order.

I told them that I wanted my money back plus the overdraft charge. They informed me that I would get my money back when they received their product back and they would not give me the overdraft charge back. I said that this was bs bacause I never ordered it and they illegally took the money from my acct.

I told the rep. that I was reporting them to the BBB and the NC attorney generals office. They told me that was fine. I have reported them to both. I also got my money back by going to my bank and telling them I didn't authorize this and they are disputing it. I will get my money and overdraft back in 7-10 days.
