MAGOOS FAILS TO INSPECT MY PORSCHE PROPERLY
Magoos sent their qualified "inspector" to my mechanaic after I had my oil changed at Express Lube and the engine partially siezed for lack of oil. This is a 2005 Porsche 911 with 31,719 miles. This was my dream car. Mar 28th, 2013 I took the car to express Lube to have my oil changed. First, the shop employee stripped the drain plug. I drove my other car to Porsche Dealer to buy a new drain plug. While I was gone, the Express Lube employee improprly installed the oil filter cartridge and broke the oil checl valve in the base of the oli filter cartridge housing. I was NOT told of this error and paid and drove away.
219 miles later, the engine partially seized, 3 of the 6 cylinder pistons locked up due to oil starvation because the oil filter was installed upside down and the oil filter check valve was broken off at the base and placed on top of the oil filter. Porsche Orlando confimrs this happened. 2 other mechanics confirm this happened. Yet Magoos sends thier "inspector" to my mechanic and the inspector writes on page 2 "the oil filter was installed improperly and the oil filter check valve appears to be broken off" a clear admission. On page 3, he wrote the engine failure is due to the tming chain breaking. The timing chain did NOT break. one small link came off while the whole chain is intact from the stress of the lower oil pump and 1 of the 2 upper oil pumps siezing up for oil starvation from the work Express Lube did.
Magoos is unqualified inspecto has caused the error after the admission in the report. Now Express won't pay to reapir my car. The cost to repai my car is $25,000 for a new Porsche engine.
Beware before you make the mistake of authorizinfg Magoos to inspect your car.
