Manuel Ortega AKA Manuel Nilson AKA Manuel Nelson, Jay Nelssim, Daniel Nelssim - Ebay Poster Fraud/Scam Sold 12" Apple Powerbook on Ebay, and after winning bid I received just a picture of the item instead of the actual item. Internet - Carpinteria, CA - Miami, Florida Internet
This person put up for bidding on Ebay a 12" Apple Powerbook at a buy it now price of only $200. He had good feedback from other auctions so I decided to go ahead and purchase it. Then after a few weeks of back and forth e-mailing and multiple excuses as to why the laptop hadn't yet shipped, I received in the mail a laminated 8x11 picture/poster of the laptop in a big box, and not the laptop itself!!
I should have known it was too good to be true when I won the auction, but the person had good feedback. Ebay and Paypal were unable to do anything because too much time had passed, but other people had tracked down all these different AKA's and posted them in the feedback section since he has apparently done this to many many people.
If anyone has any more info on this criminal, please post so we can track him down and make sure he gets locked up and our money is returned.
I have already filed a complaint with my local police, and the Miami, FL police since this is where I was told he was located, but they are not willing to get involved for such a small amount, so if others join in then maybe we can get him found and charges filed against him.

I also bid and won an auction on Ebay for a Macbook (pro), and paid the seller nearly $1100. Two weeks later after a few e-mails I got a PICTURE!! of the macbook, and not the actual product. Basically this person is scamming people by selling them a picture of the item, and not the actual product. Apparently the police have better things to do with their time, so it is up to the public to bring this guy to justice.
He operates with may different AKA's, including Manuel Ortega (the one he used to scam me) and others I have found online: Manuel Nilson, Manuel Nessim, Manuel Nelson, Jay Nelssim, Manuel Lopez, Daniel Lopez, Robert Fish (?), Rick Nilson. There are probably dozens more so please be careful!
And if anyone has any information, please contact the police and let them know so we can catch this guy(s).
