MapleHurst kennels Cindee Shifflet, Rick Shifflet, Peggy Tokach. Dog breeders in East Sparta, Ohio. Puppy had parvo virus. They gave no vet checks, did the shots themselves.They would never show me the puppies mom or dad. East Sparta Ohio
I purchased my Cockapoo puppy in Feb. 2017 for $700. I was told that I was driving to the kennel to pick up the puppy, but it was just Peggy's apartment in East Sparta, OH. She said that she loves the little puppies, so her daughter, who is the kennel owner, lets her keep the puppies at her house for pick up. It seemed strange, but I believed her. She said the puppy had been vet checked with all shots. It was a clue that there was only 3 puppies from that litter, and she said one of them wasn't doing good at all, and was probably going to die. I took the puppy home and scheduled a vet checkup. The puppy had Parvo virus and was in the hospital for a week. They said that it's spread by dirty breeding conditions. Luckily, our puppy survived, $842 later... total of $1542 including the cost of the puppy. I kept asking for pictures of the puppies mom and dad, and she kept stalling. Finally, she did send one picture of the mother, a cocker spaniel. I cried... the beautiful dog was matted, dirty, and being kept in tiny place with a cement wall and floor. The dog's face even looked afraid, with her ears down. I asked how often they breed this dog... and never got a response. Also, I was told to paypal the money not to a business, but to a "friend" and put thanks Aunt Peggy for the puppy.... very strange. I reported it to Paypal. I sent the vet bills and a signed letter from the Vet. Peggy did refund my $700, which I was very thankful, I thought I was out of all that money. I'm very worried about the treatment of the dogs that they breed. It seems they are just used and abused.
