Complaint Review: M.A.P.S A Bird Club - Shannon Antor - Sparta Michigan

Shannon is nothing as you describe. Her birds are in great condition and if she even suspects that something could be wrong with one of her birds, she quickly contacts a vet and has the bird treated asap. Her aviary is beyond spotless. I can't believe who clean the aviary is. I have been to many pet stores and to other breeders, and have found that the birds are in poor condition, never handled, and priced higher than they are even worth. I have heard many lies about Shannon and have found that absolutely none are true, in any way shape or form. I will not stand by silently while people slander Shannon's name just because someone doesn't like her or has had some minor disagreement with her.

Found this interesting warning on a Yahoo Group dated in early 2006 Accounts of Shannon Antor scamming people back then. MY MY what a lovely President of a Bird Club she must make. I have talked to the police and to the DNR they are trying to make a case to put her away but untill then we can only tell as many as possible. SO if you are going to give away or sell a pet WATCH OUT FOR HER.. ....... kelly60 is Shannon Antor..Known Scammer. Free animal collector. seller and breeder..No doubt about it. She lives in sparta but will drive ANYPLACE to get your pets. She has a red truck and a silver tool box. She says she HAD NO other pets just her and her daughter .. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Shannon uses anything she can think of at the time. Some she has used in the past are---santor@????? tthomas@------ santor1126@yahoo----------alovell, ashleylovell, rescueusrescueallofus@yahoo and any combination of Shannon Antor. She is on many differant sites, using many differant names. There are a few of us from the W.M.SPCA that have been watching her and logging her actions. We too want to see her stopped. I even have told her so and have been threatened by her with a lawsuit. Which of course never happened. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Hello everyone, sorry I have to send another special notice, but I feel this is important. Many of us have, have had, or will have a pet we need to find a new home for, and frankly the things being posted right now are SCARY. I believe that the person being refered to here has contacted me about the young rot I have..I had no idea this was something going on until these posts. I just want to suggest to ALL of you that even if you dont ask for money for a pet you may have, PLEASE make the person taking the pet SIGN a PROMISE that either a) the pet will come back to YOU if it can not be kept OR b) the pet will not be sold/given away/adopted out with out YOUR approval.. I realize if your trying to find a new home for these pets you have good reason, and therefore may not want them back HOWEVER if a person is SINCERE in wanting your pet, they will not hesitate to make good on thier verbal promise by putting it in writing, which will help weed out people like the person everyone is refering to. These are just my suggestions, of course what you do is up to you. When I reminded the person that I need a signed promise that the pup will come back to me if she cant be kept, I heard nothing more back. That signed promise can be used in court, and a person scamming people does NOT want that. ~~~~~~~ Along with the Special Notice that Cheri sent out today about the Pet Scammer.... PLEASE BEWARE... if you are trying to find a good home for your pet, PLEASE CHECK OUT THE HOME IT IS GOING TO... Along with signing the paper Cheri mentioned, put in there as well that you will check back in on them in the future to make sure your "baby" is adjusting well, etc... I know rescues do that and so does the S.P.C.A... Just watch Animal Planet Cops, they do it all the time... My biggest concern in this situation, is that this person is not just selling your pets for profit, but she may be selling them FOR RESEARCH! That is totally unthinkable... NO pet should be sold into research... So PLEASE... I know you may want to find a new home for your pet as fast as possible, but PLEASE... beware... have concern on your pets future life...
