Maps.com shipping fee on shipping and return ripoff Santa Barbara California
I ordered a Brevard County Descriptive map to include Zip Codes and the area. It cost $95, shipping cost $12.00. When I looked at the example on the website it was decriptive with streets, zip codes etc. The map I got was a plain beige map with small inserts of portions of Brevard and no zip codes.
When I called the company and explained this is not what they show on the web page and this not the description of what they sent me. He said I could return the map by Fed Ex or UPS and pay the shipping back. Also to insure it because if it damaged they will not refund my money.
So I am now to pay out another $12 in shipping and insurance... Neither of which they cover. This is a complete rip of that I now have to pay $25 to return an item that is not what they say it is on their web site.

Karen has a number of inconsistencies in this report. First of all the map she ordered is a zip code map and if it didn't have zip codes that was a manufacturere error and we would have shipped her out a new one at no extra charge, that's our policy. Here is the description verbatim off the page: 5-Digit ZIP Code County Maps Include: ZIP Code Index & Grid Locator ZIP Code Numbers & Boundaries Cities & Towns County Names & Boundaries Major Streets & Highways Also:Although these County maps contain some street detail, it is not overwhelming and cluttered, instead it is clear, consise, and great for easy reference. We also do not hide the fact that if you need to return a product because you are not happy with it you incur all shipping costs. I think the reality is she wanted a street level detailed map, didn't get that and is griping about having to incur the shipping costs. Clearly, if you order a zip code map from our company and it shows up without zip codes, that is a mistake and we'll fix that.
