this report is to inform people about a very unethical breeder. the breeders name is maria hotopp williams the kennel name is mari-mik sharpei. i bought my 1 1/2 yr. old shar pei lola, from maria dec. of 2010. lola will be 2 yrs. old in oct. of 2012. since the day lola came to us her medical bills have run us thousands and thousands of dollars. lola has f.s.f. (familial shar pei fever) f.s.f. is a hereditary disease that is passed on from sire or dame to pup. she will be on medacine for the rest of her life. my children have been crushed, to see their beloved pet go threw so much in her short life. i warn anyone not to buy from this breeder. her dogs are very sick and what you will get is a sick pup. we love lola, and now that we have her we wouldnt trade her for the world, but i have to say that i wish someone would of warned me about mari-mik shar pei. my suggestion to anyone buying a dog, they should do their research, see the sire and dame, get references and check out sights like this. make sure that your not supporting the back yard breeders. it should never be about the price of the dog, it should be about what their life will be after they leave the breeders home, and their new home should be warm and loving. again i warn any potential buyers, if your gonna get a shar pei from mari-miks kennel, be prepared to take care of a very sick dog for the rest of his/her life.
