The Maritime Executive
Fort Lauderdale,#2UPDATE Employee
Tue, September 18, 2012
As a public relations representative and highly knowledgeable employee of The Maritime Executive Magazine, I would like to clarify that the above report, as well as the "update" that was
added, are 100% false claims. The claims are nothing more than slander and defamation made by a competitor within our industry (the maritime news industry).
Please allow me to explain below
First and foremost, the person who posted this initial report and subsequent update have attempted to provide a link including information that they claim to be true - the link is currently non-functional
and the documentation they originally had posted was not genuine, authentic, nor accurate. In the first post made by this accuser, they have filled the post with a paragraph of incoherent words very similar
to that of a spammer.
In the second post, the accuser has left no explanation, basis, source, or legitimate information of any type. Additionally, they have made the accusation of The Maritime Executive having "phony
demographics", and that our publication "reaches less than 10% of our claimed readers". This is a complete fallacy, a fabricated and intentional attempt to discredit not only our company, but our publication
and our reputation within the global maritime industry.
We are a world-renowned publication with a flawless reputation as a superior news source, consistently bearing priceless industry information to international decision makers. Our reputation speaks for
itself and here are just a few examples.
1. ) The Maritime Executive website is a trusted and industry leading news source, which is why we have been linked to and cited as an informational source by sites such as nationalgeographic.com, wa.gov,
washington.edu, usembassy.gov, navy.mil, dhs.gov, huffingtonpost.com, motherjones.com, wikipedia.com, ca.gov, etc.etc.etc...
If our publication were a scam, fraudulent or contained inaccurate information, we would NOT be cited and/or linked to buy websites of such stature, ESPECIALLY government websites from around the U.S. and
around the globe.
2.) All of our statistics are publicly available from our (3) media kits on our website, at www.maritime-executive.com. The media kits include information from our website, our print publication, and our e-
newsletter (sent three times a week). All retain a high readership and include exposure in every continent - and in nearly every country - across the globe. The Maritime Executive website has consistent
weekly visitors from 185 of the 196 countries on this planet, to be exact. This sounds like a qualified and sought after news source, not a scam as the poster above has said.
3.) The maritime Executive Leads the global maritime market in social media. This is just another factor that reinforces the strength of our reputation, our readership and our commitment to the industry.

In closing, we challenge the above accuser to bring forth ANY information or data to reinforce their immature and blatantly outrageous attempts to discredit our publication. Any attempts to do so will be
met with an additional rebuttal of factual, verifiable information.
