I am a real Estate Broker and have transacted in all of the local manufactured home parks. I hear the complaints about all of them. I can only say this: Consumers need to READ what they sign before they move in anywhere. The types of complaints I have heard are from people who failed to thoroughly read their lease agreement, and then got all upset when their lease escalated, or when they received a complaint about their howling hunting dog, or when they smuggled their 14 year old grandkid into a over 55 park and were then asked to either remove the kid or sell. Written leases exist to avoid misunderstandings. Park rules and regs exist to ensure continuity in the appearance of all dwellings and enhance the living experience in these parks. As a real estate professional it really gets old listening to people whine about their predicaments when all they had to do was read what they signed. Want to have four dogs? Buy somewhere else. Got kids? Don't buy in an over 55 park. Don't want your land lease to escalate? Buy a property where you own the dirt and nobdy can tell you how to live. It is not rocket science... READ what you sign.
