 The Market Place changed my Insurance plan without a legitimate reason. In April of 2015, I was told there was a clerical error and I provided additional information. Instead of updating my existing plan, the Market Place changed my Carrier. I only discovered this recently, due to having a stroke the end of April 2015. When I called the Market Place, I was told that the company I was with in April was no longer providing Insurance coverage and they had no choice but to change my plan. After further investigation, I discovered that the Insurance company I was with, provided coverage under my plan until the end of 2015. The Rep at this company informed me that the Marketplace only needed to update my existing plan... Not change to a new company. She stated that in 2015 there was a lot of confusion and the Marketplace would just start a whole new plan instead of putting forth the effort to make changes. This has caused a lot of confusuon. I thought my deductible was met, since I was hospitalized for 5 days in April. So I kept telling the Drs and Hospitals to bill my Insurance since my deductible was met. Now they have all gone to collection and the Marketplace is giving me the run around. I called a half a dozen times and either was instructed to call someone else, or they gave me a different story each time. This has cost me over $4000.00 to date. Is there anything that can be done about this? Please advise.
