Complaint Review: Marley McDaniel - Indianapolis Indiana

Marley Mcdaniel sets up and disolves legal entities regularly. He made an absolute disaster of a project we had him on. He was exteremly manipulative. (I can't pay my guys they've been working for free please) He got into a kockdown drag out fist fight with one of his contractors on our job site. Police were called and they were removed in ambulances. (Something he didn't tell us. This fight resulted in him having his head stapled back together. We had to find out from the neighbor.) He literally lied every single step of the way. He didn't pay his two man crew. For 6 weeks of work they wer paid around $600 combined. He dropped them off at the house and didn't even leave them with proper tools. We also came to find out that one of the workers is mentally handicapped. Marley hit him. And paid him literally $100 for 6 weeks. The neighbor was feeding, taking care of, and helping his crew. 

I was out of town so I had no clue any of this was going on. While out of town I got pictures of my "finished" house that honestly looked good. He literally painted single walls in these rooms for the pictures... I wired in his final 8k and held back $500 for punchlist items. When I got back in town to view the property he showed up and I knew I was in trouble. He went from driving a ratty old truck to a new turbo diesel. (I wonder where my check went...) 

He refused to finish the work. (Even things we paid over for) 

Literally had punch list items in email that we agreed to pay for and he said "Oh no I don't have to do that because you said to do this instead." (Something that I didn't say) And in typical Marley fashion just got louder and louder trying to get me to agree. 

We got our attorney involved. Which was when he gave us his attorney. We called his attorney and HIS attorney was literally suing him for non payment... Said he didn't represent the guy and had nothing to do with him. 

He asked his crew to lie to us and say he paid them when he didn't. 

We had to have the police come and remove him from the property. He was served notice of no trespass for our properties. 

He literally made an autistic kid and a militar vet sleep on the floor in my rental when it had no electricity or running water. I would have put these guys up in a hotel had I known. 

I don't know what kind of human being does that?

Bottom line is his quality of work is beyond low, he's deceptive, and explosively violent.

When he got his final check he literally did a burn out while yelling expletives at the nieghbor and claiming he made more money than the neighbor would make in a year. He puts on a great "Mr, Yes Sir, Thanks Boss, I appreciate the opportunity" front, but bottom line is it's a thin facade. If you get into even a thin disagreement over anything his only response is to get louder, bully, and become violent.

I've never filed a complaint on an individual before. But he's screwed over too many people in Indianapolis. I hope other investors, home owners, and businesses don't make the same mistake we did. 

Our local police department has him on their list. They know he's not to be on any of our properties. 

We filed a report with Adult Protective Servcies over his physical, verbal, and outright neglect of the autistic employee. We also are aware of some potential "tax fraud". On his work order there was a (* denotes non taxable item) The entire work order was a non taxable item....
