Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We received a letter from Marts in the spring saying that they needed to change the way they do service and would be contacting us. To date they have not.

In August they filled our oil tank up at a cost of $4.69 a gallon! Our last contract was for much less ($2...something...)

So I call them to complain and they stated that "the letter also stated you could contact us..." I then asked why they even delivered oil - in the dead of summer....their response was we wanted to fill you before the prices went up more..." I said why wasn't it at my contract price? the said " your contract was up...." I said if my contract was up why did you deliver? Their response : You are on automatic delivery...! I said how can you "honor" one part of the contract and not the other...? no response. I told them to remove the oil...they said they won't do that....

After all they bill my credit card directly and they got their money!

I just went to their web site and put in my zip code to see what's up - and the site said they don't do this area!

Watch for May 1st with Marts Oil - Especially if you are on Auto Delivery

I am about to use Marts Oil. They are clear about how they work. It is all in their Terms and Conditions, but few people bother to read them. Your contract with them runs from May 1st thru April 30th of the next year only. If you sign on with a contract to 'price protect' it expires on April 30th and has to be renewed each year between May 1st and May 15th. They notify you each spring and you have to respond to renew any special pricing program, especially if you are also on their 'auto delivery' program. If you are on 'auto delivery', and you do not renew any of their pricing programs, they will continue to deliver without any price protected contract. It is clearly stated in their Terms and Conditions. My local oil company did the same thing and delivered us 500 gallons in May. It really happered our spending money that summer. After that experience, we always call for deliveries and do not use the option of any 'auto delivery' programs.
