MASONITE MASONITE WORLDWIDE refused to honor 10 warranty for defective sealant usa Nationwide
Do not purchase Masonite product of any type! They have a number of defects one of which is the sealant used to seal glass on the exterior doors. After 4 years this starting to leach from the window seal causing it to be loose and loose it's insulation properties. When i called masonite to file a claim and to ask they come and do a reseal of the glass they refused telling me that Home Depot didn't install properly buy puting a glass security door in front of it ( HD install was done complete and per manufacture instructions) and that "we should have put a screen door instead and let the glass up when the sun comes up to let heat out" and then they told me " there is no sealant that can handle direct sunlight and heat and that leaking sealant is suppose to happen and not cover cause install was out of their control" This is a clearly defective product and clearly short cuts were taken in it's design and will not provide the security and insulation they are claiming. We have two of these doors and both are coming out! I think it is very sad that Home Depot would do business with a company that has no regard for the quality of its products and treats their consumers so poorly. BE WARNED AVOID MASONITE DOORS.
