We have been trying to cancel our Massage Envy membership due to the fact that my wife is now pregant and is very high risk. Even with a letter from her doctor, Robert Stone at Massage Envy refused to cancel the membership.

Apparently, customer service is not an issue for this company. We would have been willing to put the position on hold, if they were willing to work with us.

Even before this, the service was not the best, the massage was mediocore, and we were only somewhat satisfied. After this, we will never return to a massage envy, and will be sure to tell everyone we know the same.

Did you know that by contacting this person's doctor and speaking to them about her, both you and the physician have committed HIPAA violations?  The consumer (the pregnant lady) can file a report and both of you (ME and the MD) will face monetary fines.  You cannot speak with a healthcare provider about someone else unless you have their express written consent.

Former client reports that Massage Envy would not cancel his wife's contract due to a high risk pregnancy. This is false 1) Client's wife asked to cancel the contract because she did not want to pay the entire term (documented in emails she sent to the clinic) 2) Client was told that she could not cancel the contract during the initial term unless she had a valid medical excuse, or moved 25 miles from a clinic 3) Client was unhappy with this because she did not want to pay for the entire term of her agreement, and stated that she would "get a doctor to give her a medical excuse" - also documented in her email. She did not state any issue such as a "high risk pregnancy", as stated in the complaint on this website 4) She sent a doctor's note to cancel her contract due to pregnancy, but the doctor told us that she could receive massage safely from a therapist who specialized in massage (we have several) 5) She then claimed that since she did not sign the everything on her agreement, that she should be let out of her agreement. 6) As a customer service issue, we decided at that point to allow her contract to be canceled, and she was informed of this 7) Her husband then proceeded to try and get out of his contract. Not having a medical excuse, he claimed that someone else signed his agreement, and that we forged his signature (also false) 8) We had to send the husband to collections for past due/ default, which he managed to get a cease and desist In conclusion, these two clients are a highly unusual case. Of course we would let a client out of their contract if they had a high risk pregnancy! No question. We feel that this couple wanted to go out of their way to get out of the agreements they signed with Massage Envy. Other clinics should be aware that this is how this couple chooses to do business. We further affirm that this complaint is fraudulent, and unnecessarily defames the great customer service reputation that Massage Envy Highlands Ranch, and Massage Envy in general has We can easily provide plenty of client testimonials on behalf of our great customer service!
