Complaint Review: MasterGranite - Tallahassee Florida

I began working at this company that provides granite and marble counter tops at the end or March of 2017. My first day there I was warned by the woman who was currently there about the nightmare i would be finding myself into. Me, being ignorant to the history of this company, ignored her and took on the job anyway. A week later she was fired and I filled in her shoes.

Initially things were great, the owner Antonio or "Tony" Bianco was a great and what seemed to be a caring, genuine, rough around the edges business man who was about his money. After simply two weeks there, he began making sarcastic insulting racial slurs. Tony who is a small, tempered Italian man with little people syndrome, would make remarks towards his Latin employees calling them dirty Puerto Rican's or Lazy Mexicans, He would call many of the contractors he worked with dirty rednecks or stinky black people. These were thrown as  jokes intended to hit people with low blows.

withing the third week there, the womanizing comments began. He began telling me that a woman's place is in the kitchen or in the bed and proceed to tell me to clean up the office and take the trash out. Also, He pays all his "employees on a 1099" so he does not have to pay all the taxes etc. but makes us sign papers stating we do not work over 40 hours a week when in fact we do, and also, we are not his "employees" technically. If you don't sign his paper works, he threatens to fire you or even worst, he threatens to not pay you for the week you just worked or any jobs you have sold that he may still owe commission on.

He openly discusses everyone's private business in front of other employees, such as social security number, paycheck amount, address and other private information that is confidential and illegal to share. Even after I asked him numerous times to please stop doing that he continued. He has a passive aggressive way of imposing his constant mental abuse and because the money is good when you are a great sales person like myself, averaging $1500 clean money weekly, it is hard to let go and jut walk away. You try to endure it because you have bills, kids, head of household etc.

eventually I began seeing him give out estimates to clients charging them for a certain amount of money per Square Footage and after he gets a template for the project, and the template is less square footage than he charged,he does not advise the client as to not lose money. I have seen numerous occasions where the actual project should have cost $1000 less and he never advised them of this. He stores people's credit card info in his personal quick books account without their consent or knowledge as well.

In addition he treats people poorly, he has an attitude and demeanor like he is god and we are all his peasants! I have several videos recorded of him calling me a b**** and to shut the F up and go do some "woman work" and mop the floors. On September first, he forced me into signing a severance agreement by telling me if I wanted to get paid that day I needed to sign that paper and if I did not, I would lose my job and also I would not get paid. I have this in record on my phone, I videotaped many interactions with him when he was practicing the release of his aggression.

On October 4th, 2017, Him and his new worker Shayla Brown, left early once again to go sneak around with their affair, and left me at the office alone knowing I had to leave in 30 minutes. I told him i had to leave and he knew it and that I could not stay and I was going to closes the office down if no one was there by the time i had to leave. He asked me to stop texting him because he was busy. Later when he was finished he text me arguing me down that how could I close his office and make his business "pay" for him being closed early. at that point, I was pretty fed up with all the abuse, mentally and financially as well. I  pretty much insinuated to him that I was well aware of what was happening between them and that like he said it is his business he should make sure it is operational at it's business hours especially knowing no one would be there after I left.

He began his aggression and told me I was not allowed to work anymore for the rest of the week. I went in to talk to him the following day and explain to him that I, as a 1099 worker, have a lot of jobs to quote, appointments with clients and that it would not be a smart business decision to let petty stuff get in the way of us making money. He told me he didn't need me there and that he has been in business before me and that I am nothing and he does not need me. I told him that if that is how he felt I have no  need to continue being there and i proceeded to go to my desk to collect my personal belongings. he followed me to the front office and once he seen my pick up blueprints for several commercial jobs and take them with me he grabbed me hard and shoved me against the wall holding me against my will. I told him those were my projects, I purchased those blueprints and they came from my personal email and he has no right to them. I managed to push  him off me and get away, he followed me outside and threatened me by telling me that i need to watch what is going to happen to me and that I will not see a penny of the money i worked all week for. I called the cops and pressed charges and went to file a restraining order. This man has my arm completely bruised purple and black and sore from grabbing and thrown against the wall.

This has been by far the worst place I have ever came across to work and do business with. they have a high percentage of mess up in their fabrication and installation. There is absolutely no quality control whatsoever and super bad management of the fabrication that takes place. there has not been one job since July 2017 that has not have had a major mistake that needed to be fixed and some that could not even be fixed.

Also he charges a markup on the price of his labor that is absolutely outrageous and it is 100% gouging.

I do not recommend working here, or giving your money to this business because you will be absolutely dissatisfied to the max!
